  1. Somebody must have remembered to tell Gorzo that he sucks.
  2. Have I stated lately just how much I hate Nyjer Morgan?
  3. I was more ticked off by Doug Davis, myself. How in the blue hell did we lose that series? The D-Backs give us fits.
  4. Agreed, otherwise it's a huge waste of a bench spot. On rare occasion, I don't have an issue with a pitcher pinch-running, either. Well, Hill was coming in regardless because Lou was pulling out starting catcher with an OBP over 500 to [expletive] bunt. Yeah, that was dumb. Had we scored the go-ahead run that inning and Hill was put in as a defensive replacement, I wouldn't have cared too much. But taking out your hottest hitter just to pinch bunt was completely asinine.
  5. One of baseball's true legends and a hell of a nice guy. Uecker is one of the last of a dying breed of legendary announcers. It's he and Vin Scully left. Get well soon, Bob!

  7. Expect the worst, hope for the best.
  8. I've been a Lou defender longer than most, but he needs to go. Now. It's like he's deliberately trying to sabotage the team. That's the only logical explanation for the decisions he's made lately.
  9. Why would you move your #1 starter to the bullpen? Who the hell knows anymore?
  10. Seconded. I'm rooting for it, but walking the pitcher is inexcusable.
  11. I love it. Hope he keeps this up all year. Nothing wrong with that.
  12. Don't get me wrong, I want the Cubs to rattle off about 10 in a row right now, but my only fear is that would only give validation to Lou's insanely stupid "Move Z to the pen" theory and just encourage even dumber behavior in the future.
  13. Don't doubt Adam Dunn Especially against Cubs pitching.
  14. Why? Interleague play is great. I love seeing teams and players who I don't ordinarily get to see. The NFL, NBA, and the NHL all have "interleague play" so to speak. Why is it so bad for baseball? It's just crap like this trophy that needs to end. Where did you get that impression? The White Sox fans care far more about the Cubs than the Cubs fans do about the White Sox.
  15. After yesterday, I don't think he'll regress nearly as much as a lot of people thought. While I think it's unrealistic to expect his ERA to be as low as it was last year, I don't see any reason why it can't be under 4.00. Wells is for real. It's always nice when you find a diamond in the rough that comes out of nowhere.
  16. Or just find someone to be Ron minus dementia. Not quite sure who that would be, find a former player who lives and dies with the team. Does Bob Uecker have a partner or does he work alone? Part of my enjoyment in listening to Pat is his good natured mocking of Ron. But I heard Uecker again this weekend when he called an inning of the Cubs game and he was hilarious (by broadcaster standards) by himself. I wonder if Pat could pull that off or if he requires a foil. Uecker works with former Cubs post-game and 5th inning pbp man Corey Provis.
