  1. I wouldn't be so sure about that. This is the Cubs, the same team that makes loser starting pitchers look like gods. My point is that conceding the game after the opponent scores one run in the first inning is silly. How about conceding the game when they have a horrible approach against a horrible pitcher and knowing that this isn't just any team... it's the Cubs?
  2. This is the Cubs' curse. We have Joe Mauer and we bat him 8th on the days we actually play him. :banghead: I wouldn't go that far. If the Twins called up today and offered Mauer for Soto straight up, i'd take it in a heartbeat.
  3. I hate Philly fans. I really do. I bet that dumb [expletive] wanted to see if he'd get tazered, too. I wish he would have.
  4. what are the odds of Riot hitting a solo HR and tying the game?
  5. [expletive]. That was probably one of the most pathetic innings I've seen this year. The guy isn't even throwing the ball within the city limits and he gets out unscathed. Unforgivable.
  6. Of course Vitters is a few years away yet, right?
  7. That name sounds familiar. Wasn't he a rule 5 guy that we pounded the absolute piss out of a few seasons ago in a game in Pittsburgh?
  8. I'm pretty sure God either hates or doesn't give a rat's ass about the Cubs.
  9. It's maddening. The Cubs seem to give up runs at about a 75% clip in the next opponent AB after they score a run.
  10. I believe he called the "shot heard around the world" He did, but not the "THE GIANTS WIN THE PENNANT!" call that we all know. That was Russ Hodges.
  11. I had no idea Harwell also announced for the Dodgers and Orioles before latching on with the Tigers in 1960.
  12. Riot doubled? Is that his first XBH this year? Sure seems like it.
  13. I guess I never realized just how cavernous PNC is.
  14. Remember when people were saying Cedeno should start over Theriot back in early 2008? That's nothing. I remember people being excited for Kelton, Montanez, Hill, and Choi being our Infield of the Future. Only thing Cubs can develop is pitching Geovany Soto says "hi" But other than that, you're right.

  16. Cedeno 3 for his last 42. That's an Alex Gonzales level slump right there.
  17. No imb is just trying to create drama. That's so out of character for him.
  18. I'm really wondering if Aram is hiding some lingering shoulder issues.
