  1. Sure they do, they are still outs. Eventually those loud outs start becoming XBH.
  2. Wow, a rare 1908 sighting.
  3. Any time the question is "Are the Cubs REALLY that stupid?" the answer is always "yes." pretty much Wow, this must be the worst move ever if I even have imb! agreeing with me.
  4. Ok, I've been a Lou defender in the past, or at the very least thought he wasn't too bad. However, after today, I'm in the "Fire Lou" camp. Z to the pen is just about the absolute dumbest move he could have made, short of moving someone like Theriot to the pen.

  6. A yard sale would be even better. Because people could walk up and see almost all the items laying around the yard, and then the seller can go, "whoops, that one isn't really for sale. Whoops, not that one, either, or that one or that one". Those pesky no trade clauses, ya know. I know, but Lee's contract is up at the end of the year. If he's told he won't be re-signed, I'm sure he'd agree to a trade to a contender. Same with Ramirez I'm sure.
  7. Lilly can be the 7th inning guy.
  8. Ok, we're getting to be "funny bad" now. I hope we lose 95 games and have a huge fire sale, because it doesn't even seem like Lou gives a damn anymore. And people wonder why this franchise has been a laughingstock for so long.
  9. More like "Rapelisberger" amirite?
  10. And how much better he was than Ryne Sandberg.
  11. That's when all of Soriano's money is finally off the books and we're not tied down (theoretically, anyway) by any albatross contracts.
  12. Yeah, .500 is looking more and more like a longshot every day. Oh well. If the team tanks I want the bottom to completely fall out and a house cleaning and fire sale happen. Get rid of Hendry, get someone competent in there, deal Lee, deal Rammy, deal anyone else you have to for good prospects to hopefully rebuild, and we'll try this again in 4-5 years if this season becomes a lost cause early.
  13. Myers is irrelevant, not semi-big. I pity Mrs. Myers.
  14. Could be. I just have this foreboding feeling it's a Cub.
  15. Z would have to be considered a "big" name player. The link says "semi-big." I think Z falls under that category. Agreed, and if he knew that a suspension was coming, it could explain his poor performance to start the season. If he knew it was coming, and MLB knew it was him, what would be the holdup in suspending him? Why would they wait this long, if, presumably, they've known about the failed test since Opening Day? Again, this is just speculation on my part.
  16. Sad news for the Rockies organization.. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=5118950

  18. Not wishing this, but watch it be Z just for a gigantic kick in the nuts.
  19. Julio Zuleta can work his voodoo bat magic.
  20. He was a league average pitcher for the Cubs right? Helped them win 2 division titles. He's so good, he doesn't need to get people out. Not sure what you mean there, but, all I said was he was an average pitcher who contributed to the titles. Any other league-average pitcher would have contributed the same amount to the division titles that Marquis did.
  21. Cat being gutted by a fishing knife > Dave Otto Touche
