  1. Whatever. At least the whole Z talk should be interesting.
  2. Especially when he faced the Cubs Randy Johnson would be the starting pitcher on the all-time Cubs killer team.
  3. How do we know when a manager is in control of his clubhouse, though? It's assumed a lot of times when a team is losing, but just because a team is losing doesn't mean the manager has lost control. This is the only "incident" we've had this year and I really don't see anything else making me think the players are rebelling against Lou or anything. I don't think they're actively "rebelling" against Lou, but you can tell on the field the effort just isn't there and a lot of guys just don't give a damn.
  4. I'm almost positive no, but I've been wrong before. What's even more amazing is that if you heard a team got no-hit 3 times in a year, you'd think that team would have to be completely horrible. The Rays are actually really good.
  5. I don't really see how this is on Lou. Z is an extremely hot temper as it is and then we compile onto that a team that sucks right now and him struggling quite a bit. It has much more to do with those two things than Lou having lost control of the clubhouse, I think. Oh, believe me, Z is plenty at fault too. But as a rule you generally don't see dugout fights on teams where the manager has control. We've known for quite a while that Lou phoned it in a while ago. This is yet another example. Although I said at the beginning of the year, if we're going to suck, I want us to SUCK. Get those high draft picks next June and get a lot of the dead weight out of here. Maybe this team completely collapsing will be best in the long run.
  6. Congrats to Edwin Jackson. No-hitters are always cool. Unless it's a Cardinals pitcher throwing it or the Cubs getting no hit.
  7. The Rays are very good at getting no-hit. 3rd time since Opening Day of last season, if I'm not mistaken. edit: Actually the third time in the span of one calendar year.
  8. Lou needs to go. It's obvious he's lost complete control of his team. Incidents like this don't happen with managers who have control of the clubhouse.
  9. A case could be made for Randy Johnson's slider if you're only counting hitters from one side of the plate.
  10. Yes. I will then smoke, drink, drive 150 mph, and jump off of skyscrapers because the end of the world is upon is. I'm not a religious scholar, but I'm pretty sure the Cubs winning the World Series is a sign of the Apocalypse.
  11. This is going to shock a lot of people, but my opinion isn't too far off from this. As I've said (and I think someone sig'd back in 2008) the Cubs could make the playoffs with the other 3 NL teams being St. Mary's Elderly Nun Hospice, the School for Blind Amputees, and a group of asthmatic Little Leaguers, and I still wouldn't bet on the Cubs in October. The Cubs to me are like that screwup family member: You love them more than anything, and you would do absolutely everything for them, but you've long since stopped expecting anything good from them, as whenever they get close to turning their life around they find some way to mess it up. But you'll never stop loving them no matter what.
  12. I remember that game. I was watching from a hotel room in Anchorage.
  13. "YOU MONSTER." http://www.old-picture.com/indians/pictures/Old-Indian-Man.jpg hahaha
  14. YOU be quiet. You were the butt of arguably the best joke. Hey, the guy has a lot of experience with special ed classes. You actually lucked into one there, champ. My wife has a Masters Degree and teaches at a Special Ed facility in Miwaukee. I have a special needs brother in law, and a special needs brother who died 11 years ago Friday. So I probably know more than the average person on the subject.
  15. Haha this was funny. It's like watching a fight in the special ed class.
  16. I prefer to think of the irreparable damage Kaka would have if he'd be from a Spanish-speaking country with that nickname.
  17. If the Cubs traded Zambrano to the Blue Jays, would the fans in Toronto call him Big Zed?
  18. It's a shame. He did a lot for his native country and seemed like an all-around good guy.
  19. Yes, sometime in September. Its called spoiler ball. There is no doubt in my mind that once the Cubs are officially mathematically eliminated they'll become the hottest team in baseball shortly thereafter.
  20. There is a very fine line between optimism and stupidity.
