  1. My hope is that a QB slips to 9 and the Bears and Titans swap 1st and 2nd rounders.
  2. It's great to see the Bears maximize the value of a #1 pick without there being a true 1/1 standout. It takes the Bears from being by far the worst in league at WR to middle of the pack. In this spot, the best BPA will still be a position of need.. (I'm assuming Carter goes top 7) The most likely BPA will be B. Robinson. I know RBs don't have the same draft value given their attrition but he would give this offense another dimension. A great HB to already go with what Moore will provide as well as a progressing Fields would take so much stress off of Justin.
  3. I don't want them trading past 2, IMO. Let's say they're lucky enough to sign Payne, Anderson becomes the no-brainer to put next to him. Follow up with a 1 technique via FA/draft and 3/4th of that line is solid. Depth is improved as well with Jones, etc. going further down the depth chart. Similar to the Oline, improve RT and the interior and you can hide B. Jones a little more with help. It's a multi-year process and the resources and other needs are greater than LT and a #1 WR. DL is their #1 of many weaknesses...
  4. Despite his size, I love Lindsey Scott Jr. Honestly, not familiar with him at all. I'll check him out. Been an interesting journey.... LSU Last Chance U Mizzou Nichols St. UIW Those are the colleges he attended.... 24 yo. Mobile, accuracy is plus, avg. arm strength... Walter Payton athlete of the year. Broke FCS record for TDs. Very good showing at predraft events..
  5. So, yeah I agree with you. I've argued so many times this season/offseason that Siemien is fine as a backup next year. And I don't like the thought of intentionally going after a guy because he's mobile like Fields. Just get the best guy you can find. That being said, yeah I'd certainly draft a QB this year, probably in the 7th. No 6th and 1 of the 5ths is super early, so you're looking at either the Ravens' 5th or a trade down to get one before the 7th. With Brock Purdy's success, I imagine experienced starters will be all the rage. So, it's really hard to figure out where some of these guys might get picked. But the Day 3 guys SHOULD be guys like: Stetson Bennett, Georgia- who is about 5'11", but everyone knows about him Aidan O'Connell, Purdue- who had an article written this week that he could be the best QB in the draft (LOL). But a 2-year starter Max Duggan, TCU- probably goes higher than I'd like to take him Jake Haener, Fresno St- started 28 games in a pass heavy offense Malik Cunningham, Louisville- super athletic, super skinny but can run. Myles Brennan, LSU- he sucks, but he's like the only one with any kind of size here Tanner Morgan, Minnesota- if I had to say anyone is similar to Purdy, this would be him Clayton Tune, Houston- decent size, decent athlete, may go higher than I'd like too Dorian Thompson-Robinson, UCLA- similar to Cunningham in size & skillset, but probably a little better passer Tyson Bagent, Shepherd- IDK anything about him but apparently people love his upside and he's at the Senior Bowl on Getsy's team Despite his size, I love Lindsey Scott Jr.
  6. Fwiw, I would cut Jackson too. I wouldn't, but I understand. He will be overpaid in 2023, but the Bears need to spend the money, so they might as well keep a still solid player. 2023 would be his last year as a Bear, unless they extend him, which doesn't really make sense at his age. But I think it'd be fine to keep him for this year. He's still productive, a leader, and took to the new defense with more turnovers and fewer missed tackles than in recent years. The only reason why I'd hang onto him would be the cap hit. Next year, the hit is much less. He's definitely overpaid coming off a serious injury.
  7. Yeah, I was noticing the changes there. They can get to 110M by cutting Whitehair (June 1), Justin Jones and Muhammad. Fwiw, I would cut Jackson too.
  8. Bosa (either one) was not an obvious home run I have to admit, I might be wrong about Anderson. David pointed out that Carter was drawing "Darnold" comparisons and last season, Carter was clearly stronger than Anderson. How far would the Bers drop before you would feel comfortable still getting Carter? If they don't go sign someone like Payne, I would be fine if they drafted him at 1 if they felt he was the BPA and for some reason a trade fell through. They still have to be proven wrong at this point whether they can be trusted even in hypotheticals.
  9. Stupid hypothetical draft questions.... Does Levis as a potential #1 overall pick help or hurt the value of the #1 pick? Do you think there is any difference in value going from #1 to #4 or going from #1 to #2 then to #4? Based on Rich Hill draft value, it's a +25 net gain going from 1 to 2 to 4 (equivalent gain of an early 5th based on the +25).
  10. Based on Derwood's research skills, HCCF would make a great provost.
  11. I didn't see enough consistency from Levis to justify being ahead of Stroud and Young. The size, mobility, and arm strength are there but his accuracy is below average as is his instincts. I actually like the potential of Richardson more but him and Levis are mid 1st IMO. Levis is not Josh Allen.

Dirty by Abram, should have been ejected.
  13. Charbonnet is slow like Montgomery. But he can catch, block, and slightly faster than Montgomery.

May I never see Rodgers' Trump loving ass again.
  15. I would not allocate FA money towards HB with the depth of this draft. If Z. Charbonnet is there at 64, I'd grab him.
  16. If you draft Anderson, sign Payne/Jones and sign/draft a 1 technique DT with Robinson on the other side. If you draft Carter, sign Tomlinson and Davenport.
  17. Ideally both win to put Indy at 3, to where they lock in on one QB and Hou and Indy battle for the better of the 2. Seattle would be a wild card because who knows if they'll bring back Smith. If they don't, you have 4 teams needing a QB (Hou, Indy, Sea, LV in the top 7). I just think there's enough a drop from Anderson to Carter and better DTs than DEs in FA which would make he hesitate going beyond 3. The greatest drop would be beyond Carter. I'm just not looking forward to Fields having no #1 WR again. I'd rather the Colts pick lower so they have to give up more in a potential trade. The dropoff from Carter to DT2 is huge for me, since I'm not a big fan of Bresee (their other 2 DTs stayed in school, so I guess he could too). But the Bears will sign a free agent DT. Like 0 question they will. They tried to sign a big dollar DT last year when they had no money, now they have the most in the league and a loaded DT class (as of today). Granted, they need multiple DTs but I'm thinking they add at least 1 stud in free agency so not getting Carter wouldn't be a huge issues. I actually like this DE class quite a bit. They probably have to sign a FA DE as well, but not as good of a class as DT and they also need a pair of DEs as well. But I'd be fine with losing Anderson if it means the Bears get a huge haul of picks for #1. I like several of the 2nd tier of DEs, even though my favorite one of the bunch, Jared Verse, announced he was going back to Florida State yesterday. I fear Payne and the tag. Dre'mont Jones is a good consolation prize though. I like Tomlinson as a 1 technique.

  19. Houston should go up 10 now.
  20. Enduring the progression of Lauri and Carter Jr. is a terribly frustrating thing to watch this year
  21. You're probably right on that one. I don't think Stroud or Young have the same trade value as other years.
  22. If Carolina offers 9,39, and the 24' 1st would you take it? I would based on the belief that Q. Johnson would be on the board.

    NFL Week 18

I wonder how many of these players who have already achieved multigenerational wealth will go into this off-season with a different mindset because of tonight. We've seen an increase of players retire in or before their prime due to possible long-term effects over the last 5 years, it should wisely increase.
  24. That trade for Claypool keeps looking worse and worse. The concept of overpaying financially simply to compensate overpaying with draft capital is not out of the realm of possibility. If he underachieves again next year, that's the position Poles put himself in.
  25. They've been given a motorcycle when they haven't even learned how to ride a bicycle yet.
