  1. oh really? i hadnt been paying attention to the Mets
  2. if i had a couple more days notice, i'd be on this like white on rice
  3. didnt see this any where else. http://newyork.mets.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080908&content_id=3438140&vkey=news_nym&fext=.jsp&c_id=nym does this hand the phillies the east?
  4. I've had 4X8 sheets thrown at me (hit me across my chest-bruised for a week) and seen the table saw pull a sheet with someones finger getting split right up the middle table saws are evil. I still use them, but with great cation and only one that I know well. ive seen ppl break arms and ribs from having their work piece being kicked back at them. ive heard of people (although never seen) people suffering internal injuries from the same thing...my mentor told me of a person he was working with die from internal injuries suffered from a table saw kicking a work piece back at him. table saws are nasty. im not sure if my mentor was telling me the truth or just trying to scare respect for the saw into me. either way, when i saw that guy lose his fingers I gained respect. a table saw is the only piece of equipment that ive ever used that i will, under no circumstances, ever use after drinking even one beer
  5. well, at least this game was quick, now i get to listen to Palin speak at the RNC...like i said earlier tonight is full of high comedy
  6. panic responses are a sign of a weak will and a generally pessimistic outlook on lifeIf I was a fan of another team without a dog in the fight I would find this board HILARIOUS right now. i'm finding it an absolute riot atm....this place and the republican convention have me in stiches tonight....who woulda thought this evening would be so full of great comedy!

  8. someone needs to be reminded of wavin wendall
  9. BUT OMG THIS IS THE BEST TEAM EVER EVER EVER THEY'RE SO AWESOME THERE'S A 600% CHANCE OF THEM MAKING THE PLAYOFFS SUNSHINE RAINBOWS PUPPIES KOOLAID!!!!!!!!!!! oh my god you are the dumbest person in the world i always knew you were an alright guy
  10. If you can't handle people saying they suck right now (which they DO, and if you don't see it, open your eyes) this probably isn't the place for you anyway. actually, i think i just need to start useing the ignore feature
  11. its wonderful to be reminded from time to time why my posting here goes down as the board membership goes up
  12. i mean hell, we've lost 4 in a row how many times this year? freaking 2 times...the world is not coming to an end and the cubs arent going down in flames...not yet anyway...it's a minor bump in the road
  13. What is? The fact that the clutch hitting has been terrible for over a week now. I don't really believe in clutch, but I believe in anti-clutch when a team is pressing and not handling the pressure well. It has? Love the exaggeration. Even if we were talking about clutch hitting, there were clutch hits last night, there was a clutch hit in the 2nd Philly game.. there was obviously clutch hitting in the first Philly game.... Perception >>> reality, I guess It's not any single thing. It's the extremely disturbing transition of our team from the best in the NL to the worst. i'd rather have them playing like this in the first week of sept than the last week...this team will get it togather again before the end of the season
  14. it's freaking 1-0, come down off the ledge
  15. ive seen this injury happen before, in fact i had to pick up 2 of the fingers and pack them in ice. it was a very gruesome scene. for all of you homeowner wanna be carpenters, dont ever use a table saw with out others being present, there are several ways that a tablesaw can injure/kill you, especially if you are alone. i am a professional and have many years of experience on a table saw under my belt and i rarely ever use one w/o someone else being present, especially not if my work piece is something i cant handle with one hand
  16. alex gonzoles, october 2003
  17. i want some of whatever you've been smokin the last couple days :) I don't know...I just have a feeling. Karstens is a better pitcher than he's been the last 3 starts. The Pirates didn't do awful against CC last weekend. Pittsburgh's due for a win, etc. crew up by one in the fourth...also i was just as much referring to the theriot homer
  18. i want some of whatever you've been smokin the last couple days
  19. i cant decide if i should drag my lazy arse off the couch and head down to the ballpark for this one. a ticket in hand would surely motivate me a little more, but its not like not having a ticket ever stopped me b4
  20. well, i cant really believe he had much of a career left anyway, the man is 40. not that i wish his career to be ended by an injury, but i cant believe he had much left in the tank.
  21. its nice to be back in Chicago. anyone got a spare ticket for tomorrow or monday?
  22. i recall Biggio getting called on it a couple times I figured it probably did at some point, just that it's so rare I don't remember it. I went to probably 5 UCD baseball games last season and I saw it called 3 or 4 times. Not sure why they don't call it in the majors. notice i only said "a couple"? and he was notorious for stepping into pitches
