  1. honestly, it sounds like sour grapes to me.
  2. LOL. Your team fouls on every possession. If the refs called every Mizzou foul, they'd be auditioning fans to suit up by the 12 minute mark in 1st half. We're smoking you guys, fair and square.
  3. Eh, well. It was worth a shot to try to get him at a new position. Overall I've been pleased with my impressions of Kelly's recruiting so far. Care to explain why? I've been thoroughly unimpressed so far. I guess I'm just glad to see him pursuing top talent. Of course, he needs to actually get it. doesnt ND always pursue top talent?
  4. WOST. SCENARIO. EVER. My friend is an Alabama football fan and a yankees fan. I swear I'll kill him if UK wins it. does he also pull for the red wings, steelers/patriots and lakers? he's a huge globetrotters fan.
  5. Rep. I'll be the first to say that the Big East is down this year (which a lot of people projected before the season). Maybe I'm a homer, but with KU, UT and KSU as the tier one teams in the big 12, and Baylor, Mizzou, and OK St/A&M as the tier two, I'd say the Big 12 is the toughest. Kenpom says it's the ACC, though.
  6. Best game we've played since Temple. It was against a depleted ISU, admittedly. But Hilton is a tough place to play, and they gave UT a very rough game, so I don't think I was freaking out over nothing. Marcus Morris is looking better and better. Aldrich looked like himself again, and it was against a pretty decent frontline. Taylor also played better. Just need X to recapture the magic. Should be a tough game vs Mizzou on Monday, but I think we'll win going away. Saturday vs KSU will be bananas.
  7. I believe he said he likes being at school. He says it's fun. That and he wanted to win a title. But yeah, unless he turns it on big time, he has cost himself a big chunk of change. I'm almost wondering if he should stick around for another year at this point. My man needs to hit up the Pete Newell Big Man Camp or something.
  8. I guess I just saw the MSU score, which made it look like a close game.
  9. I think Collins' patience will (hopefully) be a benefit by the end of the season. We won't do squat in the tourney if we turn into the Collins show. We need other guys primed to compete. Marcus is a beast, and honestly, we should run our low post through him, not Cole. Agreed 100% on Henry. I think he's way too in love w the 3pt shot. Taylor has been the biggest disappointment, especially considering his showing this summer with the national team. We'll see about ISU. The fact is, we had to pull away late at Nebraska, looked like crap beating a severely overmatched TTech team, and couldn't stop a decent Baylor team at home. We also lost to Tennessee when they had like 2 scholarship players. I'm at the point where I won't consider anything a gimme, and I'm expecting losses at Mizzou, at KSU, and at Texas. Unless, of course, this team learns to defend like a normal Self team. As for UI, I haven't really watched them play much, but you have to be encouraged with how close they played MSU and Purdue. I had @ MSU penciled in as a blowout loss.
  10. For a road game, losing by 7 to Tech isn't so bad since I think ISU isn't so much different a team than Tech. Especially for the first game without Staiger. Please give Kansas a battle on Saturday so they're worn down come Monday. I will almost guarantee a close game on Saturday. Ames is a tough place to play, and Brackins just destroyed us last year. Plus, we look like crap, AND we're probably looking ahead to Mizzou. I don't have a win penciled in by any means. I don't care how bad ISU is playing. You kill me, they are easily one of the top three teams in America without even starting to play well yet. Self will get them where they need to be. Being in KC, I'm sure you've seen a few games. You don't think this team is pretty flawed?
  11. Pomeroy disagrees. I hate to be "that" guy, but I really don't think the numbers reflect reality in this case. I think our defensive deficiencies are covered up by Aldrich's shot blocking. But we can't defend perimeter penetration, and we REALLY can't defend the pick and roll or slip screens. Maybe I'm being overly hard on them. But compared to our last title contender (08), this team is very bad defensively. As an aside, Aldrich's regression (or lack of development) this year has been very disappointing. Same with Taylor.

  13. KU won't make the final four. They can't defend.
  14. Maybe Gill should have hired his dad as director of football operations I wish he would have. Or at least hired a guy with connections to World Wide Wes's football loving cousin.
  15. KU's prize recruit, Geneo Grissom switched to OU today, and it pisses me off. They have about 47 4* DE on the roster. We have about 6 DEs. Total. And I have as many stars as a few of them. I get wanting to go to OU. But this kid grew up a KU fan, and he's staring at the opportunity to start perhaps as a freshman. But his coach and Brett Venables are old friends, and during the KU coaching change, his coach started pushing him to decommit. Lo and behold, commit he did...to a team that doesn't even have a DL coach right now. That's three 4* players from Kansas this year, all to OU. Like I said, I get it. It's OU. But it [expletive] sucks.
  16. Man, KSU really has UT's number. Does UT ever win in Manhattan?
  17. Sorry if this is a repost. The fall of ND football, in pictures: http://www.brobible.com/Story/76334
  18. Good for Norm. He's a class act but he's 63 and already has a championship ring courtesy of USC. Makes sense that he would want to stay with a program with less pressure, tradition and expectations. lol, USC fans are giving Bama fans a run for their money in a-holery.
  19. The LA press has been pretty hard on the Kiffin hire. I don't know any actual fans, though.
  20. That's the only name I've heard that I like better than Leach. I put no stock whatsoever into those rumors, but the thought is rather awesome. I'm interested in Calhoun, but not overly excited by the hire. He'd be very similar to Turner Gill, in that he's done a good job at the position he's in, but I'm not sure how that would translate to a program like UT. As a KU fan, I can be happy about a Turner Gill type hire. Tennessee should be aiming much higher.
  21. Defensively, this is the worst Bill Self-coached team I've seen in a while. We're really overrated at this point in the season.
  22. Has this been posted? LSUfreek's memorial to the coaches we've lost this year.
  23. Is this affiliated with footballcoachscoop? Because that thing was a joke.
  24. The Olympics blow.
