  1. Man are the refs trying to give this game to Texas
  2. what an absolute bull [expletive] call on Aldrich's tech. James is a bitch.
  3. I don't really follow HS baseball prospects like a lot of you do. Does anyone know if Bubba Starling is projected to go in the top 2 rounds of this year's draft?
  4. and wtf is up with the sound on these intros?
  5. GO COLTS
  6. this comment cracks me up. what the hell has ksu done in the last 20 years to warrant this kind of arrogance? I think they've gone around 3-17 vs KU. To their credit, they did beat us in their arena once.
  7. I have my doubts, but we'll never know. didn't they storm the court the one time they beat us in Bramlage w the Beas?
  8. Honest question for UI fans. Do you think strength and conditioning is an issue for your hoops team? Looking at the physiques of your players, they seem very slender. Does Weber emphasize the weight room?
  9. I dunno. But at least we're not Texas. I don't know what happened to them. Of course, I'm sure they'll come out firing on all cylinders on Mon.
  10. TT is right. If you read this thread, you'd think UI had lost every game this year. I wonder if it's a byproduct of everyone being Cubs fans, too. I know I'm generally a pessimistic fan across the board.
  11. Jerk, now I have to sit here and watch you win. Going to OT vs a pretty bad CU team playing w/o one of its top players is very odd. I don't get this KU team. Watched your game at a bar with a ton of KU fans last night. I learned from them that Sherron Collins is overrated and is only good for about one three a game. They are very ready for him to be gone. I agreed with them, I mean I know I hate having an All American point guard. I'll fight every one of those people. And I'm guessing they're in the minority. Collins' is quite well-loved by most KU fans.

  13. we're about to lose to CU.
  14. Mizzou's class is scary good, assuming they all qualify. I'm pretty jealous. Scary good? They're 17th (per Rivals) with no 5-stars and mostly 3-star commits Sorry, we're not all Penn State. For a team that KU is trying to compete with in a North division that's kind of up for grabs, 17th in the nation is very good. Especially for a program that's not a traditional power. And dinging a team for having no 5* is pretty silly considering there are 25 total in the nation. Right now, their class is rated better than Michigan's, tOSU's, Virginia Tech's, and Miami's. For a fan of a rival team, that's not what you like to see.
  15. Mizzou's class is scary good, assuming they all qualify. I'm pretty jealous. All things considered, I'm okay with KU's class. Certainly doesn't stack up to most other Big 12 teams, but I had low expectations considering its size and the coaching change. After losing out on Grissom, Gill acquitted himself nicely by stealing Bourbon from Stanford and nabbing McDonald from Mizzou. If we can steal Ebbele from Illinois, Gill will have done pretty well in a short amount of time.
  16. Explain this one to me. Do you think there's a tipping point where adding teams becomes a negative to the tournament? 64 creates a rapid fire atmospher dropping it from 64 to 16. There's going to be burnout with this number of games, especially with so many crappy games to start things off. You can duplicate that atmosphere though. Have the play in games on Saturday/Sunday then have the tournament proceed on the schedule it is now. Bit of a layoff for the teams with byes, but I don't think it's that huge a deal. I think that layoff is also a problem. Right now, the tournament starts on the Thursday after Selection Sunday, right? (that's how I remember it.) And Selection Sunday is at the end of the conference tournament week. So when do you hold this initial play-in round? The weekend after selection sunday (when we'd normally be into round two of the tournament)? If you do that, teams with a first round bye wouldn't start until the Thursday after that. That's almost two weeks off. So not only do these teams have to find a way to stay sharp during an 11 or 12 day layoff, but it's all so I can watch the 9th place team in the ACC face off with the second place team in the Big Sky? Sorry, that would suck.
  17. Change bad! It's not so much that I dislike change. I just don't see the point. What's wrong with the current system? What is adding 30 teams going to improve? Why dilute the importance of the regular season any further? Because with 31 more teams, you basically have to be total garbage to miss the tournament. Also, to GR's point, I'm not sure it's a benefit that the top seeds have a tougher first game. The tourney is already a crap shoot. And while most people like the big upset, I'm not sure I like a system that makes it even less likely the best teams will be left standing.
  18. I hate it. Keep it the way it is.
  19. Carolina goes down again. I thought they'd be okay this year. I stand corrected, and I'm loving it.
  20. First of all, I have the best girlfriend in the world, because even though we're in Santa Barbara for the weekend, she was down with watching the game. Second of all, Sherron Collins is the greatest.
  21. I love Boise State's field and I love that idea. All the schools with green as their primary color are gonna be pissed they can't participate in this trend.
  22. I'm going to be in Santa Barbara with my girlfriend for the weekend, so I won't get to watch the game. Should be a crazy environment.
  23. I've been underwhelmed by the officiating in a lot of the games I've seen. It seems like there are a lot new faces in stripes this year, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. But these guys haven't been calling great games.
  24. they probably just went out there hacking since iowa state can't make free throws. also, you might as well pressure garrett since he's the worst point guard in the country. To be clear, I don't think the disparity was that significant. We did benefit from some calls. In the end, it didn't matter. I also wonder if the crowd at Hilton turns some refs against them. The boo a LOT. Like every marginal call gets a symphony of boos.
  25. Heard this on the radio. In his career Aldrich has fouled out one time. For a guy who is always trying to block shots that's a very low number. Collins has never fouled out of a game. For two very good defenders that is pretty much impossible to have happen. FWLIW They are good defenders. That's a big part of why they don't foul out. They position themselves well and understand the game. Also, they're usually on deep enough teams where, if they are racking up the fouls, they can sit for an extended amount of time. Most teams can't sit a star player. Kansas usually has the talent to have someone step in. Missouri bumps, hand checks, slaps, reaches in, and hacks ALL THE TIME. I'd say most pressing teams do. Refs, for whatever reason, just don't call every foul on them. There were a couple of plays in the first half where X got obliterated with no foul called. Against ISU, I thought KU did get away with some fouls. And I'm sure, overall, KU gets more calls then most teams, especially in AFH. But we plain rolled Mizzou last night, and it had nothing to do with calls. ETA: We had two more team fouls last night. At home. Against a team that bricked jumpers all night long.
