you expected anything else? kansas has an army of gypsies and unearthly creatures from the 5th dimension at their beck and call. well, unless you guys know something I don't, he hasn't been cleared to play. He's been cleared academically. His amateurism is still being investigated.

BIG SHOWDOWN THIS WEEKEND. I hope your second stringers are limber and ready. They should get plenty of snaps starting late in the 3rd quarter. If it makes you feel any better, Darrian Miller recommitted to you guys, so at least you've got some talent coming in next year. Our class is shaping up to be decent (by our standards) if we can keep all our guys. There are a lot of rumors about some changes being made within the program, though. S&C getting canned, some guys being "asked" to transfer. Allegedly, there are more than a few cancers in the program.

By all accounts, he wants to go to KU, but his mom and hangers-on want him at MU. Never hurts to have mom on your side, but it doesn't guarantee anything (Beal's family wanted Beal at KU.) I think KU will snag him. At least I hope. We need him bad. How do you need him badly? You just got the number one player in America last year and have pretty good depth in the backcourt. Because if Selby gets cleared, there's a good chance he'll shoot to be 1 and done. Also a chance Mc Morris goes pro. Reed and Morningstar (blah) will be gone. So We'll be lean on scoring. Elijah Johnson, Tyshawn Taylor, Royce Woolridge, Travis Releford, and Naadir Tharpe don't inspire a lot of fear, although EJ and Taylor could be good. Hard to say, especially w/ EJ. I still think a lot of KU fans are panicing. All I am hearing now is how Self isn't getting it done on the recruiting trail. Many have said that Ben is the lynch pin. If MU beats them for him they are going to go into panic mode big time. I don't get why. Self has always got the job done. I'm not panicking in the long term. I'm confident Self will continue to build championship contending teams. But I'll panic about our team's short-term prospects (the next season or two) if we don't get McLemore. We need another scorer for next year.

He's like a month younger than Deron Williams. Sad thing is, you're not joking. I only referenced him because as average as he is, he has some experience. At the end of the season, we'll have very little experience on the perimeter, and we'll have no guys with a reputation for being scorers, unless Selby or Marcus come back.

LeBryan Nash to pick his team on TV tomorrow. That pretty much rules out KU, who almost never gets picked under these circumstances. (And I'm not counting Selby unless he gets cleared to play.)

Why are Texas A&M and UCLA on this list? Good question. I can't remember the last season we didn't lose at least 3 games in a season. After a quick check, we went 11-3 in 1998 and 9-3 in 1995. When we were on probation in 1994 we went 10-0-1. I was a student then. The tie was at the Alamodome against a terrible SMU team. That is without a doubt the worst road trip I ever went on. If we don't win this one, we might as well just leave Mike Sherman in Lawrence. dude. you're not gonna lose.

Teams like Missouri and OK state will leapfrog the other ones if they go undefeated. OK State will have beaten OU, Texas, Nebraska, and the winner of the Big 12 north (either Missouri or Nebraska again, most likely.) Missouri will have beaten OU, Nebraska, and the Big 12 south winner. I think both of those schedules should be enough to lift them past the BSUs, TCUs, and Utahs of the world. MSU will also have some serious scalps, with Wisconsin and Iowa (and, to a lesser degree, Michigan.)

There's no chance they beat you guys. Did you see that game yesterday? Kansas was 1-7 in the conference last year and we still needed a safety and a GW FG in the last few minutes to beat them. It might not be that dire this year, but the games are almost always close, regardless of the quality of the two teams. Plus that game will absolutely be their Super Bowl. If the game was in two or three weeks I'd feel ok about it, but the last game of the year? No thanks. Also, people seem to be calling for Turner Gill's head after last night. Yeesh. YOu guys are absolutely kidding yourselves if you think we can keep that game close. Last year, we underachieved massively. We were at the least as good as you. We just collapsed because of injuries, internal bickering, program strife. This year, we're really, really, inexcusably bad. I mean terrible. Carson Coffman looked like Joe Montana. Gabbert will absolutely obliterate us. And while it might be early to call for Gill's head...we had a bye week to prepare for the second worst team in the Big 12. And we ended up losing by 50 points. At home. KSU hadn't won on the road in forever. I don't care how bad we are, we should be able to keep that game closer. And Chuck Long absolutely needs to be canned.

The sad thing is KSU is really bad too. And they're absolutely destroying us. I think we're the worst major conference team in the country. We should play Wazzu for the right to stay in a BCS conference.

Chasson, Chasson. Your recruiting is never really great at this point though in recent history. Self usually rebounds well though and finds a top rated kid who has verballed to a coach who got canned. cut me some slack, i did spell naadir right

KU's 2011 recruiting has been pretty ass so far. We just got a commit from Naadir Tharpe. I guess when you put all your eggs in the Josiah Turner basket and ignore guys like Chaisson Randle, that's what you end up with.

Don't know how you could have come to that conclusion about him already. He might not be the right guy. Who knows. But this team was 5-7 last year with one Big 12 win. And that was with the school's all-time leading passer, top 2 all-time receivers, a senior RB, and an NFL safety. Not too surprising we suck.

Turner Gill needs a win this weekend in the worst way. People are already getting pissed about losing, and home vs KSU is our most realistic chance of winning. We've had a bye week, too. We need to get this win.
