  1. Why do you say FSU doesn't have a good defense? Statistically, they've been very good. And watching them, they pass the eye test. I watched a few of their games and didn't come away overly impressed by the defense. Then again, maybe I was just wildly unimpressed by the level of competition and that clouded my judgment. The only reason no one is talking about how piss poor FSU's schedule was is b/c they blew everyone out. Until yesterday, they faced 1 good team all year (Clemson) and Miami (which had 9 wins, but lord help me if I can figure out how). As with Mizzou yesterday, I think FSU's per game average is going to rise a touch after the Auburn game. FSU's schedule sucked, but the amount of scoring that offense did put the defense on the field a lot, and they still only gave up 10 pts a game. Auburn will definitely score more than the average team, but I've been impressed with FSU's d, what little I've seen of it. Are there reliable advanced defensive metrics for football? I'd be curious to see where they place FSU's D. This site, for example, rates them very well, but I have no idea if their methods are trustworthy.

  3. Gus Malazahn wanted the KU job when it was open. He probably would've already left, but damn it anyway.
  4. it's so depressing that the 3rd stringers at Mizzou would roll KU's football team.
  5. haha, another loss on a last second three. GMAFB. The ghost of Trey Burke still haunts us.
  6. Wow, that's really bad. They wouldn't show a replay on TV of that pivot foot as he made the move, but I thought it was a travel live. Between the travel and the shoulder drop into Egwu's chest (much less egregious), there's no way that should've counted. And that really was some brutally bad Weber-ball down the stretch. lol, that's a pretty bad no-call.
  7. KU looked awful. The officiating in CBB is terrible. Embiid will be a better pro than wiggins.
  8. It's worse for the two KS schools. Smaller state, worse hs football, and the occasional big time recruits rarely stay in state when they do pop up.
  9. That should be fun. What's UCLA looking like for next year? IU and Kansas should be preseason top 10, I'd imagine. Hard to say who KU will even have. Wiggins, embiid, and Selden might all go pro after one year. We'll have good players, but we might young again.
  10. man we're terrible. this game looks like a 4A high school game, too.
  11. Tune in Saturday. Whoever wins, we lose. We're breaking all sorts of records. Like worst record in school history, most points scored against us ever, most points ever scored by an opponent at Ross Ade, being shut out in consecutive games, opposing defenses outscoring our offense for three weeks. :stickman: Man I know the feeling. It was really sad how excited I was last week beating WVU. If we best ISU this weekend, I may lose my mind.
  12. I think PSU, ND and Michigan all can rebound and become National powers again. PSU and Mich have a lot of alumni, fill up their 100,000 seat stadiums religiously, strong national brands and closer to good recruits. Honestly who really are the blue blood programs anymore? Alabama obviously.....then LSU.....then ???. It wouldn't surprise me if in 3 yrs Michigan or ND were knocking on the NT door anymore then the current top 10 programs. Being known as a "Blue Blood" university in college football isn't something you earn over a decade - it's something you earn over a century+. Blue Bloods are schools that have 700+ wins and a .700+ winning percentage. There are exactly 8: Michigan Ohio State Notre Dame Oklahoma Alabama Texas USC Nebraska Other schools like LSU, Tennessee, Penn State, etc. are close but no cigar. The Huskers are also one of 8 schools that have 800 or more wins (replace USC with Tennessee on the previous list.) Again, people can bash the Huskers all they like, but the tradition and history don't lie. you sound sorta crazy with all your posts about this.
  13. Cliff said he is also going to KU. Does Self even want JaQuan? I have no idea. But I'd have to think Self, like any coach, would be interested in a player as talented as Lyle. I think self has one scholarship left and wants turner. The number two player in that class. I'm not sure he wants Lyle. That's my sense, too. There's a decent chance embiid, as raw as he is, will still go pro this year, and Turner would fill that hole.
  14. I think KU's is probably harder, but we'll see after the noncon.
  15. Abuck, where are you? Battle for the cellar in Ames. I don't see us winning a road game, but who knows.
  16. Maybe I'm being a conference homer, but I think Baylor is much better than tOSU and should be ahead of them.
  17. Holy moly. We're killing WVU.
  18. He basically said, " I know this is their first moment and their big moment, but these coaches bust their butts and you don't need to play games. That isn't fair to John Groce. He is going to be a beast, but lets not start things off like that." It's hard to disagree with that. It's weird when these kids do the preamble where they thank everyone for pursuing them and then turn around and pull a move like that. Someone did it to KU a few years ago, and I was pretty chapped.
  19. Hat fake is bush league, but I'm stoked to get him. If we can add Turner, it'll be an awesome class.
  20. So what your saying is...no one has a clue Pretty much.
  21. I still think there's a chance cliff goes to UI. Per Bossi, KU staff thought so yesterday.
  22. I think cliff could have committed at any time. I very much doubt he was told to wait till okafor committed elsewhere. The disparity between the two isn't great enough to make cliff a conditional offer.
  23. The snider thing was a raw deal. Still not convinced your not getting big cliff. You got him, it is breaking everywhere. Another star leaves the state. The hell with college basketball. If Alexander goes to Kansas, it just shows that showing kids they're your #1 priority means nothing. Self told him he was their backup plan, Snider was recruited over, and they both go crawling back? When did self tell him that? Was this confirmed?

  25. Watched the game. The fouls really sucked the air out of the gameplay. Wiggins needs to be more aggressive, and I'd like to see him handle it more vs attempting to post up. Still, it was a very efficient game for him. Parker was very impressive.
