  1. where'd that come from? I think it's a legitimate question. I know if someone posted pictures of me without my knowledge, I wouldn't like it. Sure, that's extremely unlikely, unless there's a sasquatch lookalike forum floating out there somewhere, but the point stands. If the girls are cool with it, then great. I've got no issue with it. But OMC has already admitted not all of them know. Still, it's his decision, and I don't care much either way what he does. I know what I would do, though. BTW, thanks for letting me know I can't offer my honest opinion here if it conflicts with yours. Talk about sanctimonious.
  2. i always wonder what those girls would think if they knew they were being posted for thousands of strangers to see.
  3. ouch. looks like the red state votes are making their presence felt.
  4. i was tempted to vote hardcorecubfan just to read his incoherent victory speech, but i ended up sticking with abuck.
  5. Well, another year of letting him have it when he comes to Columbia. Hopefully this has negative implications on their recruitment of Releford, although I don't know why it would. I wonder if Bill will take back the mean words he had about him now. Time for all the Jayhawk fans I know who badmouthed him to forget they did it. may be a torn ACL. Don't know how that will affect his NBA future.
  6. No matter what, i'll never stop rooting against the knicks.
  7. sorry raisin, but matt barnes is extremely difficult to like.
  8. Sammy is looking mighty good right now and is proving a lot of his distractors wrong. i noticed he's downright awful in arlington. (.571 OPS) kinda surprised.
  9. why would he do that? he has a lot of money, i bet.
  10. That's the only thing wrong with the article, and the one thing the original poster didn't complain about. The Cubs are a square peg round hole team. There's nothing ideal about anything they do. You're right, the general point of the article is accurate, but you could nitpick some other details. He more or less says Theriot can't defensively handle a full-time job in the MI, and I've seen no evidence that's the case. He also says Theriot can "rake," and while he definitely has been raking, isn't there still some question as to how well he'll do over a full season? Last i heard, his BABIP was pretty high, though I haven't seen the numbers recently. (And yes, I realize that last point actually supports his argument that SS is an unsettled position.) It's weird; his overall point is accurate, but much of the supporting details aren't. Whatever.
  11. yeah, that line is pretty baffling.
  12. You speak as if Z has the attention span to read a book. or intelligence. what makes you think Z is stupid? Referring to yourself in the third person, while not a 'slam-dunk', is a good indicator. Sean knows. i disagree. i could see the argument that it's an indicator of self-absorption, but I don't get the link between that and intelligence. Especially with an ESL person, who probably derives much of his public speaking methodology (and command of language in general) by mimicry.

  14. well, the argument could be made for keeping cedeno if you're of the belief it's better for Pie to play every day than be the 4th or 5th OF in the bigs. My main complaint is the suggestion that Ronny is somehow "proven", whatever that means. We're talking about a guy w/ a career .275 OBP/.618 OPS who's struggled at times defensively. Exactly what makes him proven?
  15. Agreed, we should've beaten them so badly MLB would have no choice but to award us 8 wins for the last 5 games. lol
  16. what's the story on papelbon? What kind of stuff? What's his ceiling? His probable career track should he make the bigs?
  17. are u watching? how's he look?
  18. i'm not sure of your point. regardless of how pertinent it was in this case, the dangers of pot+driving shouldn't be downplayed. in fact, i've known more than a few people who choose to smoke reefer instead of drink because they think it's safer to drive that way. Impairment is impairment.
  19. it can also perform a lightning-fast google search to find out the precise year izturis won the gold glove.
  20. Only jerks think about themselves. What a selfish jerk. I think this is when Sammy Sosa says, "Who's Josh Towers?" I've noticed a lot of pitchers/managers have been saying this about Sammy this year. Tip your cap to the guy and move on. The guy is 38 and he's still hitting HR's at a pretty good rate. He's one of the best HR hitters to ever play the game. There's nothing embarassing about it. seriously. Josh Towers and his 5+ ERA and .300 BAA hasn't exactly been mystifying the opposition. Don't know why it's so embarrassing to get smacked around by one of the game's all time greats.
  21. i don't know much about the writer, but it seems strange he'd be uninformed enough to say Hill has a mid 90s heater while being "stat enlightened" enough to invoke BABIP-against, which isn't, IMO, the most mainstream way of evaluating pitchers.
  22. I see your point there, but i think you nailed it when you said in your first post that the purpose of page 2 is more for humor/entertainment than serious analysis.
