  1. I expect both games to be close this year. I'll be very pleased if we can pull out a win in CoMo. Much better KU teams have lost to worse MU teams in Columbia.
  2. No surprises on the KU front. A very good class by our standards, coming in at #29 per Rivals.
  3. I don't know how legit RPI is to evaluate teams--I haven't trusted it since that '05 KU team was #1 in the RPI when they were clearly not that great. And it's unclear to me how it's really used in the eval process by the committee. That said, KU is ranked one slot higher than UI, and our SOS is twelve points higher. We're also 3-2 against RPI top 25, whereas UI is 0-3. (Purdue falls in at 26.) Against RPI top 50, we're 6-2 and you're 4-3. We have one terrible loss (UMass), you have none. Kenpom also rates us higher by 7 spots. Our SOS is higher by 21. Personally, I think SSR left UI off the list to avoid being called a homer. Assuming they don't collapse, they're gonna be in. Kenpom predicts 24-7 before the BTT, and there's no way they leaves them out in the cold. I also have no confidence we would beat UI in a head to head matchup, but that's because I don't know what to expect when this KU team walks on the court. And for the record, I don't think KU would necessarily deserve a bid over UI; I'm just providing some possible rationale as to why SSR thinks they might be a lock. Additionally, considering we play in the Big 12, you have to figure we have a better shot getting to the end of the season with fewer losses.
  4. I knew IG would gravitate to KU being on that list.
  5. KU with a good win @ Baylor yesterday. The easy portion of the Big 12 schedule is over now, though. We still have two games against Mizzou on the books, @KSU (looks tougher than I thought), @OU, and home vs UT. Tricky Okie State is also coming to Lawrence, and we struggle w them.
  6. the Steelers now rank as the model franchise in all of sports, Bob? Not quite.
  7. Just when I start to think this KU team might be turning the corner, we blow a 21 point lead and almost lose at home...to Colorado.
  8. harangody is one doofy looking mothereffer. Nice haircut.
  9. That guy is a dick. I met him when he played for the Royals. He sucks at basektball too. We beat hs team by 15 and that was with Greg Gurley keeping them close. Questions: Was McCrae a prick? Gurley can still hoop? Was he just shooting, or did he have any athleticism left?
  10. That guy is a dick. I met him when he played for the Royals.
  11. I don't understand the fear of losing to KSU. They got taken to OT by Colorado, who is probably the worst BCS conference team this year.
  12. That is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I'm assuming that's from The Ed Hightower Photoshop Thread on Phog.net. Lots of great stuff in there.
  13. Do you think McDermott is the guy for ISU?
  14. K State is pretty freaking bad. I think you should win that game easily, though Manhattan can be tricky. Baylor will be a tough game.
  15. Self's done a good job this year. This team is very young, and the talent isn't superstar caliber outside of Collins and Aldrich. Hell, Brady Morningstar is starting. Starting off 4-0 in the Big 12 with two road victories--even if the teams all are bad--is a pretty good. And Mario Little is going to be a really good player. I wish he were 100% healthy. He can score. Agreed Self has done well, but its sad to think they might win a Big 12 title because they have to play the South only once. I still doubt they'll win the title. We'll lose to MU once and at OU. We'll struggle with both UT and Baylor. I think we'll win one of those, but we could lose both. OSU could bite us, too. And we'll probably drop one more head-scratcher--@ Nebraska is my guess. I think we'll end up 12-4 or 11-5. 12-4 gives us a shot, but 11-5 won't cut it. That maybe, but the fact remains that conference needs to do something to give the South a level playing field.[/quote Like what? Reorganize the conference? I doubt that'll happen. They just need Mizzou to get good and stay good, and have one other program get good again. Like eliminate some precon games. What good is it beating the crap out of UMKC every year? At least that way you could play a more big ten type schedule. I doubt many coaches from either side would like that. I suppose it doesn't do KU much good to drum crappy competition, but most of the programs--from the North and South-- rely on those easy wins to pad their W-L/tourney resume. I can't see teams like Baylor, Tech, Neb, MU, KSU, etc. being too eager to lose some of those guaranteed wins just to balance the schedule.

  19. KU just got Bradley McDougald, a 4* safety who decommitted from tOSU. He's the #11 safety in the class.
  20. I feel kinda bad for the 23-year-old Vols fan who'd really had his heart set on that grad assistant gig.
  21. They're not looking so good tonight. Assuming KU can hold on tonight, aTm is really gonna need a win against UT.
  22. Uh-oh, UI/KU matchup in the second round. The Illini fans will be out for blood. Am I just down unnecessarily on the Big XII, or does 7 teams from the conference seem a bit much?
  23. sweet. hopefully they'll play a complete game and not get lax.
  24. What the hell is Brewster doing that's luring so many good players to MINN?
  25. I think Scout's football coverage is garbage. I don't know if that applies overall or just KU. But Rivals seems way more comprehensive and on top of things. I don't trust scout at all for football. Rivals has KU ranked 31, which is damn good for us. Would love to crack the 20s.
