  5. you should probably be pissed at the ticket brokers and not a few guys on a message board....they're the ones buying up all the tickets. Boo frickin' hoo.
  6. Sold out: April 9th – vs. Houston Astros April 21st – vs. St. Louis Cardinals May 18th – vs. Chicago White Sox May 19th – vs. Chicago White Sox May 20th – vs. Chicago White Sox July 14th – vs. Houston Astros August 4th – vs. NY Mets August 18th – vs. St. Louis Cardinals August 19th – vs. St. Louis Cardinals I'm watching it all with a bemused sense of detachment this time, as my "lab" is in pieces. I'll be back next year.
  7. I'm now at 2,7XX, and I filed in 2004.

  9. The only 5950s that look goofy are the ones worn by flatbilling dorks. http://mlbplayers.mlb.com/images/2006/06/17/mVpX7bQL.jpg That's stupid.
  10. What the hell?
  11. I like this one. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/teams/chc/photos
  12. There's no way I would put up with the hassle of traveling to Chicago just to see the Cubs play in some McPark. If not for Wrigley, I'd just watch them nine times in Cincinnati and a weekend in Atlanta and call it a year. As someone who has gone to great lengths to get to Wrigley over the years, with the stadiums being equal, I'd take the path of least resistance.
  13. It's Jenna Fischer from "The Office."
  14. That's for clowns.
  15. Wrigley as it was in legend and memory has been dead and gone since the matrix boards went up in 2004. Since then, obnoxious corporate advertising has been as much a part of the park as the bricks and ivy. This latest change does not bother me in the least; it's the least obtrusive of all the additions, as they've stuck to a basic white on green design. Call me when they start hacking ivy off the wall to make way for a Bud Select® crown. The advertisements clutter the place but do not ruin it.
  16. 4/2 in Cincinnati for old times' sake.
  17. I used to listen to Murphy back in the old days when he hosted Sunday nights on WLS. I think I'll try to catch him on the net.
  18. Liberty Media to buy Braves, run them into the ground I almost feel sorry for them.
  19. Thanks.
  20. I really doubt that the Reds sell so many season tix and 11-game packages that all 42,000+ seats are gone before single game tickets are released. If they let ticket package holders buy extra before the general public gets a shot, then it probably will happen. I live 300 miles from Cincy, and I'll gladly make the drive for opening day, but there's no way I'll buy 11 games and hope to come close to breaking even selling the other 10. I agree. Perhaps "blowing smoke" would have worked better in this instance.
  21. That site is awesome.
  22. I picked up an authentic Sosa jersey for $49 from cubs.com in the wake of the Baltimore trade. It's a curious piece, as it is a Sosa shirt in the nameless style of 2005, which he never wore.
  23. Buck is an excellent broadcaster. Berman is awful.
