Good. I'm glad he rubbed it in. What's the point of booing an ex-cub? If Toronto came to Wrigley, does anyone think Frank Thomas would get the same negative reception that Sammy got at the Cell? Uh.....yes. Without a doubt. It wouldn't be close.
I'm looking forward to the additional HD on the way, but honestly, besides Extra Innings and Battlestar Galactica first-run eps, there's very little stuff I like that's not available in HD, and those two will be fixed next year.
I didn't say you were a beancounter; I was merely pointing out the piles of cash spent on HD infrastructure upgrades. Again, by government decree or otherwise, it's a huge priority. DirecTV is launching a whole new array of satellites just to bring a proper HD lineup into play. I strongly suggest that you ditch your lame cable outfit. If the hills are in the way, move. I would.
There are ads on top of the dugout too. http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/sp/getty/17/fullj.getty-73394690jd020_houston_astro_4_22_41_pm.jpg At least they aren't for Toyota.
How do people miss this? To elaborate on my earlier post: parking — Why? getting there — Ride the damned train. concessions — Vastly improved, and prepared by the same folks who do the Cell, home to supposedly superior game food. bathrooms — See Davis' post. seats all suck — Wrigley boasts the best sightlines and the most intimate seating arrangement in all of baseball.
The government made digital broadcasting a huge priority by forcing stations across the country to upgrade facilities at considerable expense. DBS and cable proividers have also had their worlds turned upside down in a rush to accomodate HD broadcasts. Beancounters across the country wish it was a "strong consideration."
