  1. Welcome back to the toilet, Sox pricks. This is glorious.
  2. The field currently is crowned in a way that makes parts of the playing surface impossible to see from the Cubs' dugout. I assume they're going to correct that, as well as install modern drainage systems and perhaps a snow removal grid.
  3. Go to hell!
  4. Awesome game, Wood was lights out too.
  5. 1. HR #38 on 8/5/96, which I was fortunate enough to scoop up after it deflected off a rather large man who was seated one row in front of me. 2. The first game back from suspension on 6/18/03 in Cincinnati: I watched as Sammy hit a monster shot to dead center, effectively handing a STFU to the moronic Reds fans who had been giving him hell all night.
  6. Maybe because he was only the GM for two years of his tenure here? Get your facts straight. You definetly work for the Tribune company. Why, because I told him to get his facts straight? Those are the facts. MacPhail was Cubs GM from July 2000 to July 2002...TWO years. I just happen to pay more attention to the business side of the game because it fascinates me. That doesn't mean that I work for Tribune Company. I think the responses to my post shows why I don't have a lot of posts for the number of years that I have been a member of this community. CARRIE!
  7. Thanks man, you should come on down! Here's an AP article from a Dominican source with plenty of quotes from Sammy left intact.
  8. Brilliance.
  9. #599! GRAND SLAM!
  10. Sammy is expected to start in RF tonight in Cincinnati. I plan to be in the park tomorrow night, soley for the purpose of seeing him, so I hope he makes it into the lineup then as well. In 18 career games at GABP, Sammy has nine homers. Two this weekend would put him at 600.
  11. That's all that really needs to be said.
  12. I'm pretty positive that it was Gilkey. I remember the RFer diving even though he came up like 5 feet short of the ball too. Who was in right that day? I don't remember it being Sammy. Sammy was in RF, Scott Bullett in CF, and Luis Gonzalez in LF. You were right that it was Gilkey. Link A few days later, we were treated to what I still think is the greatest Cubs win I ever watched on TV, and thanks to a last-gasp eight game winning streak, we managed to stay alive in the wild card race until the next-to-last day of the season. Of course, hardly anyone besides me saw any of it, because it seemed that everyone besides me had quit the game after the strike.
  13. Since when is EI a "Cubs" package? I enjoy seeing all the games, though it is a better value when the Cubs are doing well.
  14. It's awesome, too bad it's being wasted on the Cowboys, though. :P I'm going to have season tix in that new stadium. I hate to see the old gal go, but at least they incorporated the classic roof design into the new place.
  15. DirecTV provides this very service on a near-nightly basis.
  16. That's a shame.
