    I find myself wondering what Wrigley will be like next time. 2003 was a riot right up until ... 2007 and 2008 were played in the shadow of that debacle and the atmosphere was absolutely smothering.

    I have no idea if this is a terribly hard thing for a hitter, but I remember thinking as a kid it must be a monumental task based solely on Stone and Harry's commentary. I would imagine it must be tough hitting a ball coming at you 95 mph while passing from sunlight to shadow. Not nearly as difficult post-lights IMO.

    As someone who loves Daytona, this is depressing. The city never made any serious move to improve Jackie Robinson Ballpark. They did install new seats on the 1B side, and improved the concession area, but the 3B stands were demolished in the 1970s in order to install football bleachers for HS football at the site. Promises were made to restore that portion and to upgrade the rest of the park but were never followed up on. It's still a fun setting for a ballgame, but the majority of the FSL plays in spring training stadiums replete with practice fields, batting cages, weight rooms and the rest. JRB lost its last spring training tenant in the early 1980s, and is far below the standards Theo & Co. are looking for, rain or no rain.

    @daytonacubs - .@kschwarb12's first grand slam with Daytona, second in the Cubs organization (6/28 vs. Beloit). This one was an opposite field blast.

    Just scored an incredibly cheap room along Michigan Ave. for Jan. 16-18. Gonna be a long march down to the Sheraton, but the savings are worth it and convention should be a blast this time.

    This is exactly what I was going to say. Good God. And it's so much better than it was pre-Ricketts lol they had like 9" tube tvs everywhere and [expletive] and some moldy ass old carpet Apparently this was state of the art in 1984. The old clubhouse in LF must have been something else. I really think they should leave the visitor's clubhouse as-is, and remove the canvas that shields the catwalk from the concourse.

    He had a rehab outing there on Wednesday. I hadn't seen anything about him being back in Tennessee, and I would've expected more than one rehab outing if only for stamina purposes. Ah - got crossed up and thought he had pitched for the Smokies on Wednesday. Thanks for clearing that up.
