  1. The Houston and Pittsburgh portions of the year have been nausea-inducing. I can't believe we allowed such [expletive] teams to wreck the season.
  2. John McDonough, at the behest of his Tribune masters, was a major force behind the spending prior to the '07 campaign. I'll give Hendry that.
  3. Great game, I was there too. Upper deck, first base line. What was the final score that day? 5-4. That was a great series. Took 3 of 4, and we really should have swept.
  4. This is great. 9/16/04 in Cincy ... I was there.
  5. Our advance scouting is non-existent. There is no other plausible explanation.
  6. Should have stayed another week or two in Africa if this is the best he can do. Is the financial picture so precarious that we couldn't bear to eat the last two years of Hendry's deal? Or is Ricketts just [expletive] cheap?
  7. It's an allusion to Lou's mangling of the title a couple of years ago.
  8. Make NY a three-team market again.
  9. the clinch of the division in 2008 at wrigley comes to mind. Yeah, that was great as well. Right in front of the Cardinals ...
  10. RF Colvin SS Castro 1B Lee 3B Ramirez CF Byrd LF Soriano C Soto 2B Theriot P Gorzelanny
  11. My GF has DirecTV. Every time it rains or snows the damn thing stops working. EVERY TIME. She needs her dish re-peaked.
  12. DirecTV, DirecTV, DirecTV.
  13. It was fantastic. I've never sang that infernal Win Cubs Go song with as much satisfaction as I did in that G-D place that night. People who don't live among Reds fans can't possibly understand that there is indeed a rivalry, and how awesome it was for us to rub it all in their faces. The memory is made 100% better knowing that Votto holds it as dearly as I do.
  14. Heh. So what are we supposed to do, not show up? Jackass. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/07/reds-votto-wont-sign-for-cubs-fans.html
  15. Moyer threw a wild pitch as Castro came home on a squeeze play.
  16. Nice to have the lead, but I must admit to being a bit sad to see Moyer knocked all over the park like that.
  17. The skills competition was nixed after Barry Larkin FUBAR'ed his MCL while participating in that 1989 edition. Doubt we'll see it again anytime soon.
  18. I was hoping for this anyway, but now it'll be much sweeter.
  19. He was probably frightened by the Cubbie hordes that overran his ballpark when he was a young'n. Emotionally scarred, I bet.
  20. I can't remember ever being so happy with two walks and a nice throw by a Cub. I now fully support every team having a rep.
