  1. That may be the weakest GT opener this year.
  2. I love the day games, but perhaps you're right. I don't play. In any case, the organization doesn't see it as a factor, as they continue to "burn" night openings on concerts.
  3. Hopefully Ricketts can fund the new third base side facilities that would bring the Cubs' digs up to snuff. I question some of Rolen's points however ... the Reds have just as much variance in their start times as the Cubs, and the visiting teams at Wrigley have even more spartan facilities than those used by the Cubs. If there is a disadvantage at Wrigley, it stands to reason that it's more difficult for the visitors as there hasn't been a similar park (as far as facilities go) in the league since Shea closed down. The Cubs are used to all of the Wrigley quirks, and should have the advantage. The fact that they haven't made use of it since 2008 reflects a deficiency of management rather than an indictment of the park IMO.

  5. Nice to see the Phoenix contingent with a solid showing of blue despite the suckage that we've been through.
  6. Hire new men to replace all the fired, and hire some more. The Cubs spend less on advance scouting than anyone else in MLB.
  7. Embarrassed by the damn White Sox. Embarrassed by the damn Pirates. Embarrassed by [expletive] Dusty Baker. When will ownership step up for pride's sake, if nothing else?
  8. The pilot needs to keep Lou off the plane to Phoenix for the sake of the franchise.
  9. Doesn't matter. Telegraphs, smoke signals, carrier pigeons ... I'll always find a way to be aggravated by the Cubs.
  10. Deal him. You don't build around closers not named Mariano Rivera.
  11. Matt Capps is sure to be a ratings beast. WTF
  12. There was no need to rush Ramirez back. A post-ASG return would have been reasonable. Please [expletive] up the Reds.
  13. John McDonough has to bear some of the blame for our current contract situation. He had much more to do with signings like Soriano than did easy targets like Crane Kenney. Oh yeah, Hendry has to go.
  14. Yes, "Go Cubs Go" is long past its sell-by date.
  15. Can't argue with selling high on relief pitchers.
  16. Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous considering that this contending Reds squad still struggles to break 25k on a regular basis. These "holiday" hats look dumber with each passing year.
  17. Why even bother with the titles and whatnot associated with a front office? Hendry, like his boss, should have the decency to duck out and head to the third world if he isn't interested in salvaging what little dignity we have left.
