  1. He’s a 27 year old who throws taters. It’s just the kind of move a small market team like the Cubs make who try to turn a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. It’s literally nothing. It’s a move where they cleared some flotsam out of their minor leagues for trash from someone else. They could have waited for the DFA.
  2. WS here we come! This is like buffing out a scratch on a 2003 civic.
  3. Not Cubs related, but a Braves “prospect” Fransisco Vicioso has a stat line of 3IP 0-3 ERA of 66.00 with 26 walks and 6 Ks. He’s hit 4 batters and has 35 WP. Also he’s made three errors.
  4. I hate to say I don’t think he’s Farve or Rodgers level, but he’s pretty pretty pretty good.
  5. Jed will get hired back in Boston as soon as he gets fired. He does some things well. This result is not intended but is baked into the design as a possible outcome. Jed ant Tommy Boy value similar qualities and are motivated by value, which is not necessarily a bad thing. But if it’s the primary factor things can go sideways.
  6. Love the MLB app. I can listen to Pat and Ron
  7. How manny hits does Whit have this weekend?
  8. I haven't been to a game since 2016 (Ross's 100th HR game). I won't be going to any for the foreseeable future. I love the Cubs, but I don't have to support the Ricketts directly so I won't do that.
  9. Mo Baller is blowing up AAA. I think this is more evidence that the league is full of filler.
  10. He doesn't have the players to set the market. And he's strategy of waiting until he gets the value he wants has worked out reasonably well for the Cubs. Overall, he should be fired (he won't be), but he seems to do well in this part of the job.
  11. As it stands today, where does the class rank compared to 23 and 24? In the middle?
  12. Tom hired a like minded CBO. The Ricketts are not trying to trick anyone. Tom's comments (paraphrasing) "They should be able to win and stay under the luxury tax" is his hard line. If Jed cannot do it, Tom will hire another guy with the same general philosophy and tactics. Making money is goal #1, #2, and winning is goal #3.
  13. Honestly, I was underwhelmed with the prospects after the first 8
  14. I can see them trading Tallion and then next year looking for a starter all season. Because that’s the way it seems to work.
  15. This Cubs team is right up there with 2004 as one of the more frustrating I can remember. Many of the same issues too.
