  1. And you haven't even touched Pie yet.
  2. Winner. At the time it was pretty much regarded that the Astros gave away Larry Andersen, correct? Bags wasn't much more than an average 3rd base prospect in the Red Sox system from everything I've heard. Not exactly. Bagwell was a 4th round draft pick who was the rookie of the year. He was drafted in 1989 and in the Bigs by 1991. 3. He was sharp for a while, gave up a tater to Pat the Bat on a decent pitch, and was let down by Lou and his defense. But he didn't pitch that well. Let down by Lou? How? I'm sure I could dig back in the game thread and figure this out, but I really don't want to. :good: Lou put Fukudome in CF and Ward in RF. Soriano didn't get to a ball and cut it off.

  5. But Felix Pie needs to learn his lesson! I was just going to post something about this. A manager is only good for a couple of wins/losses per year. As it stands now, this one is on Lou.
  6. Respect isn't the word I would use.
  7. This is hardly breaking news but you can probably bet that Douglas Roberts and Rose from Memphis are entering the draft.
  8. The Farns was a 47th round draft pick. However, I don't think it's quite fair to look at draft status in isolation. First, I want to know the quantitative definition of average and above average because I don't think very many "average" minor leaguers make it out of high A.
  9. Hill wasn't sharp in the first inning, but I thought the umpire was wasn't giving him the high strike either.
  10. Manbraids.
  11. Right, and he's a streaky hitter. I'd like to see the Cubs move Fukudome and DeRosa up in the order.
  12. Lilly seems to be giving up a lot of hits/IP in his first two starts. At least it seems like he was a lot more dominant last year. Just a perception.
  13. Hughes is so much better than Kasper it's not even funny. And Santo is great for comedic effect. I'd much rather listen to that booth than listen to Kasper and Brenly sounding like they're underwater. Not denying that Hughes is better than Kasper, but Santo is so annoying it's unbelievable. I love Ron, but as a commentator, I'd rather not listen to him. Len and Bob are a great duo. Blasphemer. I listen to Hughes and Santo on 30 second delay and watch the game with the sound off.
  14. Where's that Budhouse dude?
  15. I was going to make a rant about that but the look didn't quite get the meter high enough to get me to start a thread. They look awful. Gagne's pants look like they could come down on any pitch. I really don't know how they run in pants like those. They do have ball room though, so they have that going for them.
  16. The Channel was great in the late 80s when they had Brnandmier, Steve and Gary, and Kevin and Jim Shorts. But then it wasn't a sports station except for the idiot Chet Kopic.
  17. \:D/  A couple of my behavior analysts students are working as academic advisors for the team, they actually are a hard working bunch of guys. Sorry Cal.
  18. On MLB EI I keep getting a message that says upcoming and no game (CH 471). I don't get 640. Any help?
  19. I think Lee or Zambrano would fetch the most in a trade.
  20. Jeff "cowboy" Brantly makes people with intellectual disabilities look like geniuses. Thom is a legacy hire, nothing more can be said.
  21. Ok the Cubs didn't look this bad in their first game. Asleep at the wheel.
