  1. Getting fired up I keep missing Horton’s starts. Not to night, baby
  2. Willams was kind of ****** with the Cubs, but then he's been mostly mediocre. I was in DC over Memorial Day weekend. Their park is lovely. I like it.
  3. I go back and forth on Jed. I suppose my bottom line is that he's a company man. In a sense, he has to be to keep his job. But in another sense, he hasn't used the meager resources (by Cubs' profitability) well. There is no reason why they should not be the favorite to win the division every year even given the limitations placed on them by the shitbirds who own the team. I'm glad things are coming together for him, the MLB team, and for us fans. I don't know that they would find anyone with a different mentality to run the baseball opps department, because at the end of the day, they own the team and will run it how they see fit. So my assessment, they could do worse and they could maybe do a little better.
  4. I love Mo, but if I'm the Cubs, he's my headliner. They all have questions, but he's got the best tool. I don't think he's going to hit for much power; he doesn't have a position if he can't catch, and I worry about the weight as he gets older. Long is a good second or third prospect, or flip-flop Wiggins. I'd hope they are only giving up a package like that for a TOR pitcher.
  5. Whoever the hell Kenton Egbert is is about to turn a corner. I can feel it.
  6. Just to tack on to this. We knew the first six weeks were going to be tough. It was tougher still due to injuries and ineffectiveness in the pen. Counsell and Jed have got the pen sorted and the pitching has been good enough to win. They are winning games when they aren’t playing their best. That’s the mark of a good team. if Shota gets healthy and Horton’s learning curve steepens, they are going to be set up well for short series baseball. And that’s if they don’t go get a TOR starter at the deadline. I’d say on June 1, things have gone better than expected. Hopefully they get and stay healthy.
  7. Irish hit a late inning bomb to seal the deal for Auburn. He’s a Schwarber Jr, with a better body coming out college. He’s also a Michigan native.
  8. ****** games happen. I see these threads as people blowing off steam. I get a kick out of the fan policemen.
  9. He needs a swing coach. It’s worse than it ever was with the Cubs.
  10. The Cubs continue to do what good teams do. They should have a .750ish winning record against below .500 teams. I like that they demonstrate the ability to score in different run-scoring environments. The injuries to the pitchers are a significant issue and will be costly to correct though.
  11. Stuck in the airport until 1:30 am hoping for an epic extra inning game
  12. Len has a different personality on the radio.
  13. Have you ever been to Coors? It’s my favorite ballpark in MLB. Not a bad seat in the house. Even the rock pile
  14. They are doing what good teams do. I can’t wait until they play the Cardinals. The pitching has to improve if the want to contend
  15. Dansby is no longer hot. And when he goes cold he gets icy.
  16. Tall order today. Hopefully, Brown can limit the gopher balls. I still think he has the makings of a good SP, but he needs a third pitch.
