    Cubs down 2-0 after yet another Votto HR. He's my favorite nonCubs player, behind Bryant starting Saturday.

    He's been red hot since basically mid June. Honestly just about every bat in the system got off to a slow start. I don't know how fair it is to just yell "Pandemic" and pretend May didn't happen though. I think the way to look at it is by saying it's progress. It's not where you start it's how you finish (things being equal).

    Gymnastic events are an individual sport that they turned into a team sport for reasons. She can do whatever the horsefeathers she wants and no one should say a word about it.

    94% contact rate is other worldly. 1 miss every 20 swings. But how selective is he? Half of the top 10 in contact rate are average or below this season. They tend to put a lot of 'pitchers pitches' in play. This was my immediate concern with Vitters when we took him. The reports definitely painted a picture of a guy who could hit anything but would often times be better off waiting for his pitch.If I remember correctly Vitters numbers out of high school were not that impressive. I think he had mono his senior year and people thought that could have been a reason.

    It's still good, albeit not as fun. I love the game. The Ricketts are killing my enjoyment of the Cubs.

    It is mildly fascinating to me how it's caught on. I think they'll eventually have another name, due to marketing, but there seems to be a groundswell for keeping that name. I ran into some fans (at an Enterprise) and we were just chatting, and they said that it just seemed pretty cool to say the "Football Team" despite the ups and mostly downs of the Snyder era. Sort of giving some swagger back to the fans, particularly if Redskins was definitely out. All that said, I think they'll eventually pick a name for marketing purposes. At the very least, they'll pick a mascot, but I suspect they'll pick a new name. Too much money in it. Washington FT, they do it in socer

    The sport is moving closer and closer to professional league style. Big 10 (whatever, they call it) ACC SEC PAC 10 (whatever, they call it) League Championship Playoff National Championship Everyone else goes to bowls. It kind of forces Notre Dame to pick a league. It would be great if the Super Conferences could just break away from the NCAA.
