  1. I don't think so. Kid has like 400 professional at bats, we won't be very good, and poor Tom won't want to start his clock yet. They will likely give him the Bryant/Hoerner treatment to manipulate service time because they are a trash organization.
  2. Triantos? 100% Great. It just seems to be taking a lot of time.
  3. Well, the C0bs stunk up the joint for 8 innings last night and then decided to let St. Loo implode. This is the first time since I joined in 2003 (or was it 2004?) that I"ve started back-to-back game threads. Hell, this year I"ve stared more than all the other years combined. Whatever. Kyle vs the husk of Wainwright. I don't know what to expect other than that Kyle will find a way to go six innings, four hits, and one run.
  4. Lol, I fell asleep expecting another pathetic loss. What a surprise. Also, shame on all of us for not having a game thread up.
  5. I don’t really think they want to play any more baseball. Dead team walking. Still fun listening to Pat and Ron. Cubs down3 in the 5th.
  6. And the Brewers are a mediocre team and running away with the division.
  7. There is a reason he’s on Marquee. Just stump stupid.
  8. Unbelievable 9th by the Cubs with the Marquee feed horsefeathering up.
  9. I'm no minor league expert, but I would say it will have no impact. Davis needs development time.
  10. Wrong answer. It's interesting...I don't remember Dutchvalue giving off douchy vibes like Joc pre-Cubs, but I don't think Joc had any hits in the 2 Dodgers playoff series that hurt even close to as much as Todd's 3 run double in Game 6 of the 2003 NLCS. In fact looking at the numbers he helped the Cubs, going a combined 5-26 (.491 OPS) with 2 extra base hits (both doubles), 1 RBI and a 39% K rate in the 2 series. Todd was actually pretty awesome for the Cubs in 2004 and was starting to play every day until he got hurt for the season in like June. In 2005 he came back and was terrible before being traded in August to the braves. To me the worst thing about Todd was that he was so bad with the Marlins in 03, they had to bring up a 20-year-old Miggy early and he helped them get them the WC and the rest is history. My memory is pretty fuzzy, but it seems like he was blocking some prospect from getting regular playing time while he was with the Cubs. Side note: Can you imagine any team trading a 25 year old with Miggy skills?
  11. Wrong answer.
  12. Cubs should sign him after Rizzo is gone.
  13. Sounds like Willy wants out.
  14. I think a lot of the Cubs draft strategy or the outcome to be more precise, had to do with where they were in the draft order and how much money they had to spend. In other words, if I'm drafting toward the last third in the first round in a draft year where the talent distribution is flatter and I don't have a lot of money to play with, I'm going to make picks similar to what the they did. I would call this a saftey draft for the Cubs.
  15. I wonder if he's related to the guy who claimed he was abducted by aliens? http://www.rileymartin.com/
  16. It appears that they are all spending like mid-market teams with the salary ca.. luxury tax [expletive].
  17. Maybe a left-handed Kyle Hendricks? Too much? https://www.minorleagueball.com/2017/10/12/16465106/prospect-retrospective-kyle-hendricks-rhp-chicago-cubs
  18. I hate double negatives. The tepid approvals are actually making me more optimistic. Even if he is a 3rd -5th starter, it saves the Cubs from giving contracts to washed-up veterans making way too much money... in theory.
  19. Wicks is having a really good interview on MLB on Serius/XM. Sounds really smart and well thought out.
  20. I’m going to parrot TT and say I like this pick. Rush him to the bigs in a year or two. I obviously know not what I’m talking about.
