  1. Lol, they could turn around and trade down again, and get almost half an All American team in this year’s draft.
  2. First game is tomorrow. Will MLB.TV have it?
  3. I'm really stretching here, but if they like multiple QBs equally, they could possibly trade down to 3 and get an extra pick or two and trade Fields for picks/players. I think they are more or less tied to Fields now and won't even think about trading him. However, I must say after reading his college scouting report at the time of his draft, he still has the same issues he had when they drafted him. That does not bode well for his future unless the Bears have some quality coaching to get him to where he needs to be. They really flubbed by not getting rid of the former GM/coach before his draft.
  4. They potentially have a good deal of money coming off the books after this season so they may not need to reset while spending for top of the market talent either through trades of FA. But they rarely ever want to play in the deep end of the pool. The thing that stood out to me was the comment about committing to long term contracts. I don’t agree with his logic but that’s a dead horse not worth beating.
  5. On a scale of 1-10 how crazy would it be for the Bears to trade fields to a team like the Raiders and use the #1 pick for a QB?
  6. Brett summed up my feelings about Willy very nicely
  7. Rios and Wisdom forming a nice platoon means Ricketts can avoid spending money on Machado next year. It has to work, though. I’d say Madrigal chances of making the big club out of STare pretty slim right now. But what do I know? It should be a very interesting six weeks. I was very skeptical this offseason, but I kind of love how the Cubs are building a very solid roster to compete this year.
  8. We are at the PFP stage
  9. Carter Hawkins looks like Kyle Rittenhouse’s older brother.
  10. If Madrigal, Morel, Velazquez, and McKinstry all end up in Iowa to start the season, they are going to be loaded. Not to mention all the pitchers.
  11. Let’s get it going. Pictures of guys in the best shape of their lives. BP HRS! I can’t help but get excited.
  12. Ring around the rosy play didn’t work.
  13. Hope you betters took this gem. I was thinking about you when he scored. Looks like it’s going to be a fun game.
  14. If you have a subscription to the Athletic Waveland Bound is ok. But it’s once a month
  15. I agree, with their depth the Cubs are a very solidly mediocre team. With a little luck and and natural progression from any number of guys they could be a good team. But barring a series of injuries or a big breakout they are not going to be terrible or great. The biggest question for me is can Tommy cobble together a starting rotation that can keep them in the game early. I think Hendricks is pretty much done and they shouldn’t expect anything from him so they will need someone to step into that role as a starter. At this point Stro is a bottom rotation pitcher. They’re going to need progress from the young starters.
  16. Good get for the Cubs.
