    I really underestimated Stroman based on his injury last year. He is something of a unicorn for his position. If the are able to extend him it will be based on his athleticism. Given his age, I’m hoping it would be a three year contract with a higher AAV with a club option for a fourth year.

    This is their best opportunity to win a game this series. I’m sure Ross has a rationale reason for that lineup. I don’t know what that reason is.

    The beginning of summer signals the end of the Cubs relevance. I do believe they have a good streak of baseball in them, so you never know, but they appear broken.

    Not to mention the fact that the Ricketts love Hoyer. It could be him toeing the company line, but he echoes all the thing’s Tommy Boy says about winning baseball. And I believe Hoyer loves Ross. I can’t see him firing Ross until he absolutely has to do it.

    They can’t afford to roster Aliendo. He’s not that good behind the plate and no team can stash him on a big league roster.

    The Mets travel surprisingly well. Lots of Mets fans here in Denver.

    Since they moved these game threads out of game threads the Cubs have sucked balls. The universe is trying to tell you something, new guys.

    Very Cubs like to draft a guy who’s not going to be a star. Maybe one isn’t there at 13. I would roll the dice and gamble a bit looking for a game changer.

    They aren’t actually trying to win this year so, I don’t know. The Ricketts believe in building a team from the farm. They don’t have any Marquee (no pun intended) on the current roster so they won’t be landing any prospects with sell offs. I think they will stay the course. It’s all they can do, really.

    If the wind is neutral I’m hoping for 5 innings and 4 runs. if the wind is blowing in 5 innings and 2 runs. if the wind is blowing out, I hope they have someone warming in the BP next to him before the start of the game.
