  1. Caissie is nothing like Colvin.
  2. I’m not saying the Bears should draft him, but I think Bo Nix is going to be the steal of this year’s draft. He’s the son of coach, is really smart, and is gym rat. He’s a little old but he’s got a strong arm, quick release, and good sense of what he wants to do at LOS.
  3. He's got a quick bat.
  4. Kopech all kinds of wild to start the bottom of the first.
  5. and then he said take him off the draft board.
  6. Pete is just such a fun player to watch it's natural to want to see him in Chicago, but he still has a lot to work on to be the player everyone expects/wants him to be. Given his verve for the game and work ethic, I expect it's going to happen. He's going to be dynamic and lot of fun for a long time to come. If you have MLB.tv you can watch him in Iowa every game.
  7. The thing with Madrigal is that if he's getting regular playing time, at some point he's going on the IL for an extended time. I don't think the Cubs can pencil him in for the majority of 3B. Morel needs to make the routine plays, that's it. If he can't do that, he can't play the position. Yesterday's non-error/error was a higher-end play, but a play a ML 3rd baseman is going to make 9 times out 10.
  8. Arizona Phil reported it and it was repeated by Brett at BN.
  9. Yes, I have impulsivity issues and had overconfidence in my own ability on the course. I'd go to the range and nail a bucket of balls. Then I'd get on the course and hit a bad tee shot and try to make up for it by hitting an impossible 2nd shot and chase that with a bad third shot. Get to the green and three put for a pissed-off 8. Then the next hole nail a drive and be putting for a birdie.
  10. Just quickly looked up Biggie - Harvard graduate. Big fastball.
  11. I need to pay better attention.
  12. I was a serious golfer in my late teens and mid 20s. I wasn't good but occasionally I'd break 100 and rarely break 90. But I was also completely frustrated while doing it. Bitching at myself when I'd hit an errant 3 iron or miss a five-foot put. One day in the middle of a bad round I just quit playing and started drinking. I still drink and I don't play golf. I've played occasionally, maybe once a year for a few years, but I haven't played a round since 2016 and I don't miss it at all. It's an incredibly frustrating game, if you're trying to be good at it.
  13. Caissie with the quick bat. I may be underestimating him.
  14. I like that they are giving Mervis a lot of ABs. He has not taken advantage of the opportunity to this point.
  15. Good patience for Morel this spring. He's looking really good.
  16. No one is going to want him unless the Cubs dump a pile of cash to go along with him. I agree, ST doesn't mean anything. He's definitely not a starter and they are short on LH guys, so he's on the team.
  17. MLB.tv will not ruin Barracuda for me. I don't care how many times I hear it in that commercial. That is one of the best riffs ever recorded.
  18. Smyly blows ass.
  19. Back hand, got to the ball, couldn't transfer and made a late and bad throw to first.
  20. Smyly gave up another tater and is getting rocked. He can't get the ball down.
  21. Smyly giving up a lot of hard contact. Tough to through breaking pitches in Arizona, but... Morel cost him 3 runs.
  22. Morel needs to make that play
  23. If they go with three catchers on the 26 man roster, I'm traveling to Chicago to issue a formal protest to Jed.
  24. Morel did not miss that.
  25. Minor league announcers again. Interesting.
