  1. This is undoubtedly true. The fact that Lee has hit like Jeromy Burnitz over the second half of the season doesn't help. LOL at stranding Soto on 3rd.
  2. Dick Stockton is rooting for the Dodgers at this point.
  3. Oh yeah, we'll keep coming back. I love baseball too much. Even if I could somehow give up the Cubs, I'd want to follow the sport anyway. Not me. I cant think of another team Id want to root for. I like the sport, but I can't really think of another team I would follow either. If the Royals were good I would root for them, but it would never be like rooting for the Cubs. I feel like I was born into this.
  4. After game 2 I was worried about being turned off to baseball for a long time. Then I thought about my Mets fan roommate, who said the same thing after last year's Mets...but still got his heart broken by this year's team.
  5. Aramis is swinging at too many pitches off the plate inside. He needs to lighten up
  6. Soriano might look worse than Fukudome at the moment.
  7. Ok 1 hour until gametime and the Brewers game is only in going to the 7th now, at 8:08 central. Does TBS have an alternate channel they can put our game on if/when the other game runs over?
  8. Before this year (it's not over yet) when did Cubs players give WS predictions? Z in 2007 comes to mind.
  9. Is it possible that Guzman is just more comfortable starting than relieving? His fastball is hopping and he's mixing some good breaking pitches in there as well.
  10. gotta root for the BB. I mean rooting for either a basehit or BB. Obviously, he would rather see Lilly issue a BB than a hit. I stand by what I said. And there it is. So hypothetically Lilly doesn't walk anyone. Would Ronny Cedeno rather have a basehit or a no-hiter with his error being the only thing that prevented it from being a perfect game? You'd take the 0 hits. There would be an extreme minority of Cubs fans who would remember the error, but it would be predominantly known for the 0 hits. BTW you broke the rules.

  12. And 2 Ws. At some point you have to go for it.
  13. Coming off his career high in pitches against the Cubs and pitching on short rest, Jerry Manuel sends Johan out for the 8th inning with a pc of 97. He'll be gassed for the playoffs if the Mets do make it. The Marlins, however, act like they want to be golfing already and see all of 7 pitches in the inning.
  14. why did they pitch him on short rest? Who else do they have to pitch today? Oliver Perez on 2 days rest? He's the best option at this point.
  15. He pitched a 1 hitter against us in 2005. He shut us out over 7 on 4 hits, 2 walks back in late May but we won 2-1 in 10: He gave up 3 over 7 on 6 hits, 2 walks as Z imploded for a 7-3 loss. So he's tough for us, yes.
  16. In fairness to Nick Swisher, that check swing strike 3 call was absurdly bad.
  17. It's gonna be a long winter at 35th and Shields.
  18. Ramon Martinez versus Bobby Howry...this is quite the interesting matchup. For whatever reason, I see this as a less stressful version of Tightpants Farnsworth versus Julio Franco.
  19. I'd love to hear how this is his fault. Would it have killed him to walk out to the mound and calm Z down? I'm not blaming him persay, but he has to keep his pitchers, especially Z, in control. That's part of his job as pitching coach.
  20. Larry Rothschild is doing a great job right now.
