  1. We're only 0-9 against the Marlins since game 5 of the NLCS, not to shabby. I thnk we're 0-9 at least. We've been playing them 6 times a year for 4 years plus games 6 and 7. That 26 games.
  2. Because giving away outs is stupid? So are double plays. Bunting there decreases the expected total number of runs scored in the inning, but increases the odds of scoring one run.
  3. Why didn't Fontenot bunt? The fact that he has hit a few home runs doesn't mean we shouldn't be bunting there.
  4. He's quite lucky that he wasn't left paralyzed in some form. That is a very common way to break your neck.
  5. Do you think anyone was making that play, if only for the moment?
  6. You know what the best part of the game was, IMO? The some of the new talent on showcase during the second half of the game. For the AL: Grady Sizemore Evan Longoria Ian Kinsler Carlos Quentin Joakim Soria Scott Kazmir (Although he didn't look very good and that appearance may cost him) For the NL: Russell Martin (I know he isn't that new, but I think he really opened some eyes) Adrian Gonzalez Dan Uggla (Although that performance could possibly ruin him) Carlos Marmol's slurve. Aaron Cook (okay maybe not) Ryan Ludwick (Even if that catch was kind of a sham great play) I enjoyed seeing these guys play hard because they were playing in on of the first first few all-star games in their respective careers and it meant something still. I enjoyed the show, which must mean Bud Selig's mind tricks are working.
  7. YAY Cubs (other than Soto and Fukudome), Matt Holliday, Miguel Tejada, & Nate McClouth. BOO rest of NL!!!! Cook says hi. tell him I said "what's up" Russel Martin certainly didn't play poorly.
  8. Hopefully this is a building block to a return for Marmol.
  9. The HFA makes it more great, cause we're pulling for someone. This is good baseball. I'm enjoying this.
  10. He was definitely not playing games. LOL sorry that was nice.
  11. Yeah, you were right he was good out there....half a decade ago.
  12. Lincecum is quite intimidating. I happen to like Randy Johnson's slingshot motion but it's not for everyone. Joakim Soria has some Bob Gibson in him and is pretty sweet also.
  13. That raises the question: who would be worse in left of the pair? Interesting battle.
  14. He compared 1984 Rick Sutcliffe to the Brewers (!) which is a slap in the face if there ever was one. Is he a Cardinals fan?
  15. He can play some outfield and makes more consistent contact. However, he plays worse defense and is much older.
