Since no one posted about this, and since the Brewers are in our division (and this is big news), I thought I'd post a post I made a week or so ago when he got hurt. Ben Sheets left in the 8th inning of tonights game against the Braves after straining his lat on a pitch. I know this doesn't hit home for many fans, but the Brewers have very quietly become one of the most fun teams to watch for me, with guys like Ricky Weeks and Sheets along with my favorite pitching coach in baseball, Mike Maddux. Sheets was easily their best player and my favorite pitcher in the whole game to watch. This injury seems alot more serious than all his other back injuries, because from what I've gathered in 5 minutes or so, the lats do come into play with shoulder movements. I think the fact that Sheets comes straight over the top makes this injury a bit more worrisome (sp?). But I should say I know nothing about anything right now. Anyone who saw it though must have automatically thought "Tommy John Surgery" with the amount of time they spent looking at the elbow. I thought it could be TJ surgery by the way his arm hung so limp, but then I remembered when I hurt my right shoulder last year that my right arm went limp too. Hope this isn't anything that'll hold Sheets back long.
