  1. Rob Washington, that man should be managing a team. I bet he could work with CP. And kidnap Mike Maddux and make him pitching coach.
  2. Given good health, and thats nowhere close to a garauntee, I believe Mark Prior could retire as the best pitcher of my generation. The funny thing about Prior is that his upper body is small enough that if he filled it out a bit more he could add a bit more to his fastball (which scouts have been hoping for). I'm hoping all these small little pansy injuries are a blessing in disguise in that Dusty has to be a liiiitttle bit more careful with him than he would have been. Basically, as soon as Dusty leaves I really see this franchise blossoming. And blossoming big time. Too bad the only pick I like from this years draft is Pawelek, cause our farm system needs a new injection of youth. We have fallen hard in that area IMO. Sorry for going off course there.
  3. McKeon is a bit smarter than those guys. I think the highest number of pitches any of his guys have thrown all year is the 114 by Willis in one of his early complete games. Well...until tonight. But he has not ridden them hard, they throw strikes, have a good defense, and have nasty stuff. That usually adds up to alot of innings eaten without their arms falling off. I wish Z and Wood did that. BTW, I do know Beckett gets hurt alot and that Burnett had TJ surgery. But Burnett was with the Dusty-trainee Jeff Torborg, and Beckett has had only one case of an actual arm injury (not little pansy blisters, I mean the elbow tendinitis he had last year).
  4. Pie would be the next Patterson IMO. By that I mean he's our top prospect who will be rushed to the Major leagues if they did this. He still needs to work on his plate discipline and he still needs to work on base running. He's getting better, but I'd like Pie to have at least a full season of AAA ball before he sees life as a Cub. And that means 2007 at the earliest for me. Better safe than sorry I guess. Its not like he'll be 25 or something next year anyway, the guy will be 21.
  5. Well alot of Delluci's value comes in his OBP. He got those contacts (the one Brian Roberts uses), and says he's seeing the ball better than ever. I'd love that .419 OBP at the top of the lineup.
  6. Healthy Beckett >>>>>>> Wood. No offense to Kerry, but Beckett has better control than him, doesn't give up as many HRs, and K's a healthy amount also. I guess they're the same in that both of their health problems hold them back. But when both are healthy, I'd take Beckett. Which is saying something because I'm probably the biggest Kerry Wood fan on this board.
