That wasn't much of a study. He just compared then on Fangraphs usiing a graph that works from their best season down. Even then, Id be more than willing to take the risk. To me, Fielder is a legitimately elite bat and we'd be getting his prime years. I just dont see anyway signing him will end poorly unless something dramatically bad happens.

Not a big fan of his style of hitter as it is (high K, low BB)...his D/athleticism aren't great either, though it'll pass while he's still a hot name...Royals prospects play in some nice hitters parks, and his numbers in the PCL for the PCL are nice in a "I guess" kind of way. I lean towards future bust. The gem hitter is Hosmer, who should be absolutely awesome. No. It's a case of greener pastures + what have you done for me lately....I like Vitters alot.

I dont think they feel much defensively yet because he was drafted for his bat. 2B would just be the next position where the Cubs could get the most bang for their buck. He should remain at SS for a little bit anyway. Now is not the time to move him or even make plans to.

What's Jensen throw? I remembering liking the arm but I'm feeling lazy. Was he HS or CC? I'm a fan of Scott of the young arms not named Maples from the 2011 draft. Good pitchers build, athleticism, fastball, and he can possibly spin a true curve. I like Austin Reed, but he's been meh this year. Wells is going to be a solid one, definitely one to watch.

I listen to general scouting reports and take what I can out of the stats. I also things like athleticism, pedigree, defensive ability, and so on. It's kind of bs, and rankings are more about getting names out than anything else IMO. I try to explain my ranking in ranking anyway.

What's the scouting report on Liria? Are we still at "can hit 93/94 and throw a changeup?" I get the feeling Dunston Jr. is going to kick ass and take names one day.

Will he get a big league start or two this year?

Watching Fielder the past couple of years and then seeing a highlight tonight....why does his size worry anyone in any significant way? The guy's built like a tank rather than the tub of lard his height/weight numbers would make it look. I still don't lean towards him in the Pujols vs. Fielder debate, but at worst he's 1ab to Pujols.

How's the beast that is Vernon Gholston looking over there?

If I like a player enough, they'll rank higher than expected. I think I'll have Pin-Chieh Chen higher than most this year, and you'll almost universally see Baez and Vogelbach in everyone's top 10 and/or 15. If you see a talent you like, then call it out. '

I think Price's size and stuff will translate well enough next season. Both the fastball and curveball are above average pitches when he's on. Kline should be more productive this coming season because he's more polished than Price. He's better at doing stuff like cutting the ball, throwing a changeup, and spotting his fastball. The difference is that I think Price's stuff is a notch better and he's got better physically projection. If Kline's stuff jumps up even a slight notch, then that's adifferent story. What're your thoughts on Appel?

Is it Blake DeWitt? The former 2 WAR at 22 year old who was being productive for the Dodgers last year, but hasn't found it at 25 with the Cubs sounds like a perfect candidate. I'm a DeWitt fan actually, and think he can pretty much be at least a Jeff Baker type in the coming years. So basically I said that to say that I liked Blake DeWitt before he was cool when the time comes.

Yeah. He's also been the Tigers' best pitcher since his rookie year. Verlander has been must see pitching for a long time now. The fastball and curveball combo has always been off the charts as an MLB pitcher, and he'd be a must watch even if he sucked. This is just him doing what he does as he's also entering his prime. I said a couple years ago that I expect him to get HOF talk when it's all said and done, and I think he'll make good on my bs. One of the most electric power SP arms we'll all ever see. Verlander + Upton in 2015!

Was thoroughly unimpressed with pretty much everyone I saw there this year. Same here. Looks like we'll have to wait for spring to see if someone can step up. McCullers is supposedly the best of the bunch and I don't think he's a top 5 draft pick. The problem is that it's such a weak draft. Outside of Appel, the guy I like the most is Florida C Mike Zunino. I think Gausman is all set to have a monster season and I like him quite a bit too. A new name to look for in the top 15 next year is South Carolina RHP Matt Price who surprisingly returned for his junior year and will slot into their starting rotation. I like him more than Virginia's Branden Kline who is also moving from the pen to the rotation and is getting quite a bit of hype. I like Price a bit too. He reminds me of Matt Barnes from this year's draft, though he's a little less refined. That's saying something because Barnes was seen as more of a raw/upsidey college pitcher rather than a polished product. Not a huge fan of Kline. Zunino looks like a pro. Good athleticism and a compact stroke...more than what I've seen from most of these guys. What do you think of Johnson and Maddox his Florida teammates? Two guys who're a little too stiff for me, but both are considered relatively big talents in next year's draft. Gausman should make it to the top 10. I wouldn't be stunned if he passed Appel, but I like Appel's style of pitching a little more. Really, neither guy has set himself apart yet and we'll know alot more come spring time. I'd like to see more K's from Appel.

I like Chen a bit. He's small, but he's stood out in alit of individual games and filled the box. Hes a borderline top 30 guy for me.

I don't mind Dempster being back at all so long as they add another talented pitcher to strengthen the front with Garza. Dempster is best served as a 3/4 type right now, and that's not a knock on him. He's still solid, and should hold up.
