  1. how on earth does ryan harvey get three doubles against clayton kershaw? i'm thinking that harvey just closed his eyes, swung and got really lucky. three times.
  2. they've been tinkering with his mechanics. he'll be fine.
  3. Not really, an above average backup catcher probably would have been the best position player the cubs have developed in the last 20 years. true, the cubs' piss-poor management and player development has a lot to do with that, but bp's projections of soto suggest he could be a borderline all-star for the next several years. his projected worth is about $10-11M per year. and he could end up being jorge posada with fewer walks but better defense. i think if anyone had said all this a year ago, it would've sounded completely ridiculous.
  4. by the way, isn't it kind of insane that soto could very well end up being the best position player the cubs have developed in the last 20 years? i mean, a year ago if you'd asked pretty much anyone about soto, they'd have told you that his ceiling was "above average backup catcher." now his projections suggest he'll become one of the better backstops in the game.
  5. ](*,) sadly, given lou's a.d.d. managing, it wouldn't surprise me if this happened.
  6. well if you're taking hill out in that spot, it's stupid to not make a double switch with johnson. otherwise you lead off the next inning with lieber or you have to PH for him.
  7. fuku and soto just want to get on the plane to pittsburgh, both first pitch swinging
  8. after tonight i might have to go with geovany soto
  9. if you're not on the bandwagon yet, better get on now. it's filling up fast.
  10. yeah i'm shocked that people watch that show too
  11. It's not luck; that's grit. Can't be, it goes in the book as a CS - CS is the enemy of the grit. I understand why Riot doesn't get a SB but why in the world is it called a CS? the play would have been a caught stealing if not for the error nice trade littlefield... give away a tradeable asset for a badly overpaid #5 pitcher, and you're a small market team without a chance to win already. that trade still blows my mind.
  12. reggiemiller rules picked Glen Dorsey at No. 2 for the Rams. he seemed to be saying that he was picking glen dorsey because he thought chris long was off the board. maybe if he's around he could let us know who he wanted if jake long was picked #1.
  13. sorry, didn't see that you had claimed them before dew volunteered to take them. dew, would you want washington? that would cover us as far as teams go, unless i'm missing a team that doesn't have a first round pick. That's cool with me. I can handle Washington without a problem. we'll give handlebar mcskullet the washington duties... plus washington is close to tennessee and we don't want any funny business  ping, i don't know if we were doing trades... that might become unmanageable if we start trying to PM people for deals.

  15. some call him David "I should have won last year's MVP" Wright.
  16. pretty good deal from the indians' perspective. if he's great you can pick up the option years and pay him to be an ace. if he's hurt or only average, no harm done.

  18. :x i have a feeling that a lot of midwestern teams are going to be playing a lot of doubleheaders this summer.
  19. maybe... they're probably hedging their bets though; if carmona repeats his huge year then he'd price himself out of their range. still, deals beyond 4 years for pitchers are generally not wise ventures unless the pitcher's name is johan santana.
