  1. seriously, he's good
  2. http://images.jupiterimages.com/common/detail/36/42/22184236.jpg this is fantastic.
  3. apparently it does, it's happened two games in a row now in the flyers-caps series.
  4. here's a better idea, give pie more than 30 PAs this year before giving up on him.
  5. Aramis AND Soriano. We're tearing it up offensively with two of our biggest three bats stinking it up. i'm thinking that derosa will be hard pressed to keep up that .321/.426/.571 line, and theriot may not finish with an .800 OPS.
  6. i like that, plus the fact that his LD% hasn't changed much since last year. he's still hitting the ball on the screws a lot. as long as he is a threat to get XBH's, pitchers are going to have to approach him carefully. with his solid patience, that will result in a good amount of walks.
  7. .304/.403/.554, 149 OPS+, 8.6 RC/27, .310 EqA geovany soto.
  8. For the Niners, I will go with Duane Brown, OT from Va Tech
  9. for atlanta, i'd go either CB Antoine Cason or OT Duane Brown. preferably the first guy.
  10. i don't see how you can say this with a straight face. he's not a selke winner but he's a solid defensive forward. he could kill penalties effectively if need be. Richards is really good, but i wouldn't put him with the elite in the game yet. i'd say he's on the second tier with guys like Marleau or Koivu and so on. That's not a knock on him...but the big thing for me is he has to prove this is really him. Is this a career year or what we can really expect (offensively, defensively i can't see him regressing unless he gets hurt or something). fair enough. i don't think this year will be a fluke offensively unless he stops getting first-line or second-line minutes, which is unlikely given that he frequently matches up against the other team's top forwards, who play 20 minutes a night.
  11. no, but it's part of being an all-around hockey player. you're right. however, he's not a good defensive player. pretty good at this. that makes him a good forechecker, not a good backchecker. agreed. marleau doesn't play physical and isn't as good defensively as richards. thornton and datsyuk are good for about 15-20 points more than richards over an 82 game season, and I think he does enough in other aspects to be as good overall as them. i'm not saying that richards is as good overall as crosby or malkin, and maybe that's what you're arguing. I'm saying that richards is good at pretty much every aspect of the game; guys like crosby and malkin are pure scorers who are more average defensively and in terms of checking. overall, they're better though.
  12. yeah leaving him in at this point would be extremely dusty-esque, and that's never a good thing.
  13. He's only out for himself, just like he always was. All he ever cared about was winning - winning - winning. A real LOSER off-the-field too. No wonder he's headed for a second DIVORCE. LOUSY family man. The all-star team does not make you a good person. He let it go to his head. I hope to GOD he never ever plays for the CUBS. I'll become a Whie Sox fan. IT'S NICE TO BE IMPORTANT BUT IT'S MORE IMPORTANT TO BE NICE!!!! =D> that was a classic nsbb meltdown.
  14. cubs 10 dusty baker's reds 1 hahahahahaha
  15. haha avery gets tackled in front of the net, blatant interference goes uncalled. then someone slashes lundquist's stick - no slashing call. devils score on the stickless goalie. classic.
  16. well-deserved "marrrrrrrrrty" chant after brodeur bellyflops and fakes and injury after being grazed by jagr's rear end. what a clown.
  17. yeah i don't know if anyone can beat rusty kuntz.
  18. dear fans, don't boo when the opposing pitcher hits our batter with an 0-2 pitch with runners on first and third. thanks, TruffleShuffle
  19. just a bit meh. i'll take 30 goals, 50 assists, better leadership, defense and checking, plus a 2nd pairing defenseman ($2.5M) over 35-40 goals and 80 assists. call it a matter of preference in terms of resource allocation. Crosby is 3 years younger and already a better all around player. At his peak Crosby will blow Richards away. Crosby doesn't shy away from physical contact, similiar to Forsberg. He is going to be one of the best players in the history of the game. I wouldn't trade him for a marginally above average 1st line center and a #4 dman. better all around player? you say he doesn't shy away from physical contact, but he certainly doesn't seek it out either. that's not really a criticism, but i see ovechkin get his nose dirty a lot more often than crosby. richards is an excellent defensive forward who is our top penalty killer; crosby doesn't play on the PK at all and is average in terms of backchecking. richards fights and checks more than crosby as well. i'm not saying that richards is a better player; crosby is better because he is so talented offensively. but to say he is a better all-around player is simply wrong, unless you are defining that term differently than i am.
  20. YEAH, this is AMERICA. i don't care what your name is, you take that crazy latino name and make more american dammit.
