  1. You have to be kidding me... how does Soriano get blamed for that? he's one of the whipping boys right now, so he gets blamed for everything.
  2. haven't the cubs been going with fukudome then derosa then soto for almost the whole season?
  3. But he got worked pretty well. In previous Cubs seasons than this would have been much more frustrating. The team is just not coming through with scoring opportunities So like previous Cub teams no the cubs' problem over the past, say, 60 years has not been a lack of clutchiness. it's been a lack of GetOnBaseiness.
  4. to be fair, most lineups become average when you remove arguably their best hitter and turn their third or fourth-best hitter into a lesser version of neifi perez.
  5. K Zone disagrees. How accurate is K Zone? The box they put up always seems so small all i can say is that if pitch 2 and pitch 4 to soto were both strikes, then the strike zone is about a foot and a half wider than it should be.
  6. wrong again. You have a very interesting perspective on what constitues a good basestealer. more accurately, you have a very interesting (wrong) perspective on what constitutes a horrible basestealer.
  7. The throw beat him by a mile. He's not fast and he really hasn't shown that he's a good base-stealer. the reality of it is that he's got slightly above average speed and pretty good instincts on the basepaths. he is an adequate base stealer but neither he nor anyone else on this team should be running on molina.
  8. he doesn't actually. He does, actually. http://www.baseball-reference.com/t/theriry01.shtml He's 7 for 13 on the season. You can't win this battle Truff. oh okay so in that case, are we also in agreement that rich hill and ted lilly are terrible pitchers and alfonso soriano is one of the worst hitters in baseball?

  10. nice to see we're still running on molina. great job fellas!
  11. marquis can't get out izturis and adam kennedy, so one can't assume that he's going to get anyone else in the lineup out either.
  12. Agreed! What the hell! don't make the first out of the inning at third base
  13. no i'm pretty sure he's one of those guys who would be awful with the cubs but pretty good for the cardinals.
  14. wait the cardinals pick up a bunch of scrubs who turn out to be good for them? this is news to me, tell me more.
  15. this is hardly trademarked by ESPN... fox did it yesterday and road announcers do it all the time too.
  16. yes japanese hitters can only swing like hideki matsui or ichiro
  17. if we're sending hill to iowa then we should send marquis to the moon
  18. So we whine about Dusty destroying his starters by leaving them in too long, and now we're going to whine about Lou having too quick of a hook? you may find this hard to believe, but there's actually a middle ground. true story.
  19. No, he doesn't have options. DLEE!@!!@!! if someone wants to claim him, all the better
