  1. hey, at least patterson hit the ball hard and didn't just dribble to 2nd
  2. of course marmol is coming out, because no other pitcher on our staff can get a weak-hitting RH middle infielder out.
  3. it's a left handed batter, there's nothing wrong with having eyre face this guy. i agree with kyle, you can't call for marmol every time you need a strikeout.
  4. i wouldn't go that far, since chances are the hitter who would've batted for zambrano would've gotten out anyway, but lou certainly hurt the cubs' chances of winning this game.
  5. that really is up there with marmol in a 6-run lead as dumbest managerial decision of the year. my mind is boggled.
  6. fontenot is easily better than zambrano at the plate... don't be silly.
  7. more than that, milton bradley has been easily the most productive offensive player in the american league to this point of the season.
  8. does lou realize it's the 7th inning and not the 3rd?
  9. that is something i should have done long ago I feel your pain. I think I'm gonna pick up an R7 draw this weekend with my stimulus check. i used to hit my driver well, but that was about 4 years ago when i played fairly regularly. i also am pretty tall, so i hit my clubs a long way - average drive is probably around 270, and if i really catch a hold of one i can hit it 300. since i used to be a good driver, i keep hitting it when i go out, even though the result is generally not a positive one. the other problem is that i'm only average with my 3 wood. my 5 wood though, i can hit that thing about 210-220 and on a straight line about 80 to 90% of the time.
  10. doesn't look all that bad to me, but there's a tornado warning on it, so who knows.
  11. for what, grounding into a fielder's choice?
  12. andy pafko has to be 85 or 90. that's pretty much guaranteed to add to the year of the train wreck 7th inning stretches.
  13. the "hispanic" screws with the effect. i don't know what they called them back then
  14. southwest? robo cam? what are these new-fangled objects?
  15. i dare say this portly hispanic chap is tossing poorly today.
  16. the bat kids should be required to do the awkward 10 seconds of waving at the camera... it's just not the same without that.
  17. yeah bikini is gonna win that poll by like 95%.
  18. if it was 1948, i'm pretty sure that the guest would have been dead like 20 years earlier.
  19. to celebrate the day, let's visit with a guy who turned 50 in 1948!
  20. good call ump... if he's black we can beat him up and not get in trouble, right?
  21. i dare say, what's going on with that colored beneath your name? some say he is running for president... balderdash, i say!
  22. i wonder if the black players had to change in a smaller, dumpier locker room with separate fountains.
  23. i say we keep talking in olde-style language
  24. i'd let her stay at home, raise the kids and cook me dinner!
