quite the quick hook there, especially since gallagher settled in after the rough inning

lincecum had his usual great stuff tonight and the cubs worked him for 7 hits, 1 walk and 3 runs in 6 innings, and 110 pitches. dusty's cubs would've been hacking away and would probably have seen about 100 pitches in 8 innings. nice effort by the offense tonight, win or lose.

emmel is just a lousy umpire... he's probably not screwing over one team or the other; he's just going to have a bad strike zone that looks too big sometimes and too small other times.

i remember someone a few weeks ago said that pedroia was "theriot with red sox hype" or something along those lines. he was just unlucky on balls in play and he started out slowly last year. he's now got a .313/.356/.466/.822 line.

see, edmonds gets the benefit of the doubt all the time. i wish that some of the young guys (pie especially) could get that strike zone.

Mitchell Boggs. his minor league WHIP is 1.40... not surprisingly he is performing adequately for the big club.

i take it back, the cardinals won a fluky world series, so the cubs need to base all future decisions off of that to make sure that they're better than the cards at every position on the baseball diamond and on the mound.

We need to get two pitchers. Gallagher is in no way ready to help get us to the playoffs. How many teams in the NL have good #5's? Well then our 4 sucks ass too. Adding one starter would make Lilly or Dempster our number 4. Right pushing Sean out. Like I said we need to add 2 to get Marquis out as well. braden looper, mitchell boggs, joel pineiro and todd wellemeyer are in the cardinals' rotation.

btw that out by reed johnson was hit harder than lincecum's single last inning. baseball is weird like that.

You do realize the Cardinals are like right on our ass right? yeah i also realize that the cards have a lot of guys who aren't likely to continue their performances, and there's also a wild card spot available in the national league. the cubs have a 91% chance of making the playoffs according to BP, which is a better chance than every team except the devil rays. take a deep breath.
