    some fun scores today. toronto 6, boston 0 in the first; baltimore 5, detroit 2 in the 2nd; yankees 10, royals 3 in the 2nd.

    they lost their next 2 games, so they're down to 11-44. losing 4 out of every 5 games is pretty piss poor.

    i am going to predict that michigan state does what they always do, start out good, lose a game to a good team that they should've won, then go in the toilet.

    no that fat hick charlie manuel (seriously have you ever heard him talk? cue the banjo music from deliverance) is getting tired of him. rollins may want out of philly and some of the phillies brass may want him gone too, but they know he's one of the top ss in baseball. manny was making it clear that he was going to tank the rest of the year, and at this point in their careers j-roll is a better player than manny, yet the red sox still got a borderline all-star lf in jason bay. you can bet that the phillies are going to want a lot more than ryan theriot before they move rollins.

    i like how the cubs were a daryle ward home run away from "if zambrano goes into a month long slump the brewers can easily catch us" and "we're choking" but instead it's "this team should be able to beat anybody, anywhere."

    yeah i don't think i've seen anyone make the 100 look so effortless. maybe it's just because he's tall and has a huge stride, but he doesn't look like he's trying and he is only 0.2 off the world record! plus, you aren't supposed to beat people that soundly in a 10 second race.

    r.i.p. the last of the old swimming records, janet evans' 800 free. i think that was the last one that wasn't set this decade, and it went back to 1989.

    He did...I can't believe he didn't out touch Phelps! It's like he was swimming through mud at the touch.... it's more than you don't have anything to propel you. you can do butterfly kick on top of the water but it's not very fast. i can tell you that when you're swimming, you don't feel good about either finish. ideally, you'd finish with a full stroke and arms fully outstretched. cavic was between strokes and he kicked into the wall; phelps was between strokes and had to take a quick extra stroke.

    holy hell.... i felt like i was gonna puke when i saw phelps would be between strokes and not get a good finish. fortunately cavic had the same problem.
