that beach vb match was awesome last night... it was also cool to see how excited may and walsh were about winning the gold. one might think it'd be "ho-hum" for them since they never lose, but it obviously meant a lot to them. and then later on, great win by the women's indoor team in straight sets over cuba. they played really well - serve receive was great; it's been shaky at times during the olympics - and cuba played pretty damn bad too. i think they had one ace and 15 service errors. they've now knocked off the #2 (italy) and #3 (cuba) teams in the world to get to the gold medal match, and to win the gold they'll have to beat the #1 team, brasil. i didn't get to watch it, but u.s. women lost by a goal in water polo to the nederland. silver medal is better than was expected, though.
