  1. Or using Aaron Miles at all well yeah i assumed that lou was just stupidly going to use hoffpauir to pinch hit in the 9th. pretty foolish to end a close game having used ryan freel and aaron miles to pinch hit but your best pinch hitter is still on the bench. oh well, we already knew lou's in game management left something to be desired.
  2. bad luck in this game. lots of warning track shots and then soto hits the last one on the screws but right at someone. not getting more runs in the 3rd inning was a killer, as was lou's perplexing decision not to use hoffpauir for fontenot.
  3. def one of my top 5 fave fake rallies ever.
  4. judging by his performance in clutch situations this year, yes.
  5. Pay per views tend to be fun times. You'll usually get a ton of matches without much talking or hype. The lineup for tonight looks to be halfway decent, to boot. The Batista Orton match might make you wanna kill yourself though. Uggggggggggggggh. I can't stand Batista. i'd put you on my foes list for talking about professional rasslin in a game thread, but unfortunately that's not an option.
  6. does hoffpauir have diarrhea or something? what's the deal?
  7. wouldn't have been a true cotts outing without a walk.
  8. if the alternatives are ryan freel and aaron miles then you might as well just let fontenot work his way through his struggles. neither freel nor miles are going to hit much, and fontenot at least has shown in the past that he can hit. There are other options, unsigned options, but Id hate to beat the same drum again. it depends if durham hits. he didn't hit in 2007 and his defense is horrendous. he has to hit well to make up for his terrible fielding.
  9. I went kayaking today instead. your loss :)

  11. not hitting hoffpauir for fontenot with 2 on and 1 out in the 8th was pretty dumb.
  12. en fuego. .358/.381/.550 after that AB.
  13. agreed, hoffpauir for fontenot, scales moves over to third and miles comes in at 2nd. i'd rather have hoffpauir bat for a badly slumping fontenot in a spot where he can tie the game than leading off the 9th with nobody on base.
  14. let's go fontenot, get your first hit in like a month.
  15. it's always fun when your #4 through #7 hitters are all flirting with the mendoza line. i guess reading that makes me realize we should be happy with our record so far.
  16. it'd be nice to see someone batting #5 through #9 get a hit today.
  17. tampa is leading and sonnanstine had an rbi double. :-))
  18. that's like 5 deep flies that haven't quite gotten out, the astros have one and it found the basket. annoying game.
  19. vitters has a double to go with that homer now. i think his line is now at .353/.386/.538 on the year and he's hitting .411 in may with 4 home runs.
