  1. oh good miles, because he's been so solid this year.
  2. yeah i have no idea what lou is doing, he seems incapable of sending up a PH until the 9th inning.
  3. hill and blanco might as well just not bring a bat to home plate.
  4. i dunno, last year i think they were okay. soriano has always been a choker, but i can't explain the rest of the lineup this year.
  5. if by "rebuild by scratch" you mean we can eliminate all the bad contracts off the books too, then i'm all for it.
  6. you forgot "getting pitch to hit and grounding out meekly"
  7. http://i.ehow.com/images/ehows/steps/consciouschokingadultstep1_L.jpg
  8. yes after watching an easy-to-hit 3-1 pitch go by. super approach.
  9. nice ab... you do know that you're allowed to swing at very drivable 3-1 pitches right?
  10. if it please the court, i'd like to have this statement stricken from the record. you were right about it being a laugher.
  11. You would think there is somebody that can be found to play a little 3rd until Aramis comes back. Hendry's awful. 3B is hardly the only problem on this team. very few players are hitting up to their abilities.
  12. I think the offense is actually average or slightly above average statistically with the bases empty but beyond anemic with runners on. bases empty: .251 (19th) / .313 (20th) / .420 (12th) / .733 (15th) runners on: .249 (27th) / .350 (12th) / .393 (23rd) / .743 (22nd) RISP: .233 (27th) / .339 (24th) / .356 (28th) / .695 (28th)
  13. this team is bad enough with the bases empty, but it reaches new depths of futility with RISP.
  14. dude needs to learn when to use and not use quotation marks.
  15. Why is that? A rookie can't be the best defender at his position? a rookie can be. see troy tulowitzki. however, colby rasmus is not the best defensive cf in baseball.
  16. but Jake Fox is a really bad fielder. yeah everyone knows that already, but what's the point of keeping scales, fontenot, blanco and miles to play 2 positions when none of them can hit particularly well? just farm one of them out and keep fox to pinch hit and start on very rare occasions.
  17. that's either a sample size argument or an argument against UZR, take your pick.
  18. interesting that you didn't pop in to say this after the last two cub games.
  19. Please don't link there. It's embarrassing. It's like cubs.com that was the point.
