  1. can't believe the phillies got werth as a UFA. what a steal.
  2. richard jones has his 6th home run in 12 games for the AZL cubs. that 15/2 K/BB ratio isn't too hot but the guy seems to have some serious power.
  3. and again. wait til they have the all star game at citi field, the home run derby champion is going to end up with 3.
  4. oh they're the best fans in baseball? i hadn't heard.
  5. i'm in a fantasy football league and need to set four keepers out of the following options: K. Warner, QB M. Forte, RB R. Grant, RB A. Johnson, WR E. Royal, WR S. Jackson, RB T. Gonzalez, TE J. Cutler, QB K. Smith, RB L. White, RB C. Ochocinco, WR B. Berrian, WR D. Driver, WR needless to say, my team is not in great shape. i figure that forte and andre johnson are definite keepers - who else? is steven jackson going to be good again? is it worth keeping kurt warner for another 1-2 years since nobody else is that good? help me out.
  6. i still have my sammy sosa celebri-duck sitting in my shower.
  7. wow he's almost as old as fred
  8. who knew we had such talent on this board
  9. i believe they call it a muumuu
  10. "out of context" is also code for "I'm completely, wildly wrong and this post is pure fail, but please don't call me on it."
  11. They lost by 15. So close, they were just 4 grand slams away from a comeback. no, the DSL cubs 2 lost by 15. the AZL cubs lost by 17.
  12. huseby's numbers are even more impressive when you consider that he's been unlucky on balls in play (.350). for a guy who looked like a massive bust he sure has turned it around. obviously he'd be more valuable as a starter, but if he can give a few years of effective low-cost middle relief, then the 1.1M will have been a very sound investment.
  13. it's not, the zone is adjusted just like it is when you follow along on gameday. of course mike fontenot and derrek lee don't have the same zone. It goes from exactly 1.5 to 3.5 vertical feet in every graph posted. they use different strike zones for every batter and then normalize them. of course they don't use the same strike zone for every batter.
  14. good move marrying a stripper.
  15. well that's not all that bad then.
  16. wasn't he signed for something like 700k? what a gigantic mistake. he never even played like a good prospect.
  17. it's not, the zone is adjusted just like it is when you follow along on gameday. of course mike fontenot and derrek lee don't have the same zone.
  18. http://www.brooksbaseball.net/pfx/zoneplotn.php?xml=http://gd2.mlb.com/components/game/mlb/year_2009/month_07/day_12/gid_2009_07_12_slnmlb_chnmlb_2//pbp/pitchers/211041.xml&sp_type=1 total game plot of balls and called strikes. pitches inside strike zone called incorrectly: cub pitchers 3, cardinal pitchers 0 pitches outside strike zone called incorrectly: cub pitchers 3, cardinal pitchers 5 so yeah, the cubs did get a little screwed by blue in that one. btw this is my new favorite thing.
  19. bradley's AB: http://www.brooksbaseball.net/pfx/numlocation.php?xml=http://gd2.mlb.com/components/game/mlb/year_2009/month_07/day_12/gid_2009_07_12_slnmlb_chnmlb_2//pbp/pitchers/211041.xml&batterX=090712_213737&innings=yyyyyyyyy&sp_type=1&s_type=1 baker: http://www.brooksbaseball.net/pfx/numlocation.php?xml=http://gd2.mlb.com/components/game/mlb/year_2009/month_07/day_12/gid_2009_07_12_slnmlb_chnmlb_2//pbp/pitchers/211041.xml&batterX=090712_214043&innings=yyyyyyyyy&sp_type=1&s_type=1 hoffpauir: http://www.brooksbaseball.net/pfx/location.php?xml=http://gd2.mlb.com/components/game/mlb/year_2009/month_07/day_12/gid_2009_07_12_slnmlb_chnmlb_2//pbp/pitchers/211041.xml&batterX=090712_214245&innings=yyyyyyyyy&sp_type=1&s_type=1 two bad strikes, on the first two punchouts, although i'd argue that strike 1 to bradley was a high strike that hadn't been there all game.
  20. please (a) stop posting and (b) seek psychiatric help. © get your eyes checked if you're going to have insane conspiracy theories, at least have them make sense. selig owned the BREWERS. not the cardinals. and while you're bitching about the umpires you may want to realize that the score should have been at least 6-2 since they ruled incorrectly on the third out in the top of the 9th.
