  1. daytona lost 5-3 in the 13th inning. vitters went 0-6... not good. in better news, castro went 2-5 with 2 walks and 2 SB, while harrison was 2-6 with 4 SB.
  2. 3 errors for hak-ju lee in the 7th inning. the crowd is yelling things like "don't even throw the ball!"
  3. Wrong Sanchez. Wasn't that Alex Sanchez he was ga-ga for? uggggggggggh alex sanchez. the cubs could not get him out for some reason. actually maybe that's why sunnydoo would have wanted him so much, he only saw him play against the cubs and therefore thought he was awesome.
  4. i'm listening to the boise broadcast. one of the salem-keizer hitters just got hit by pitch and the announcer says that the trainer came out to check on him, along with the manager. it was tom trebelhorn.
  5. bob hernandez ran out of gas in the 6th, giving up 2 hits and walk. he's out now - 5.1 IP, 4 H, 3 BB, 5 K. a single just plated 1 of those runners. boise just blew a DP ball so two more runs scored. oakland's third round pick, justin marks, made his debut against the mesa cubs. it did not go well:
  6. i don't know what this means. and their pitching isn't very good; wandy rodriguez is having a career year, oswalt is still very good, but ortiz, hampton and moehler would have been euthanized about 4 years ago if they were racehorses. really though, is there anything better than watching the cardinals lose painfully? that was fun.
  7. looks like leaving their brittle starting pitcher in for 115 pitches was well worth it.
  8. for that i hope matsui gets more anal fissures.
  9. bourn you useless sack of dog crap
  10. apparently franklin's .191 BABIP could not last forever.
  11. sweet. can't believe pudge and coste are both in the lineup; this isn't exactly a victor martinez/kelly shoppach situation where both your catchers can hit pretty well.
  12. Yeah, especially since he was in Peoria the last two seasons and was slated to start the season in Daytona before he hurt his ankle. didn't the cubs bone over matt craig pretty bad after his suspension? seems like the same thing might be happening to hernandez.
  13. once again, this would be a nice time for ryan franklin to remember that he's ryan franklin.
  14. yeah but what if he showed up nude? you don't want to see that.
  15. kudos to geoff blum for swinging at the first pitch of his at bat. always a solid move with a tiring pitcher on the mound trying to get a couple more quick outs.
  16. hopefully this will make his arm fall off.
  17. 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 K for bob hernandez. i wonder if the cubs will let him out of boise sometime.
  18. who the hell is bibens-dirkx and also what the hell kind of name is that
  19. that must have been a hell of an inning he pitched yesterday.
  20. by the way, according to gameday, the cards have 21 ABs and have seen 55 pitches. is dusty managing them now?
  21. hopefully he quits and becomes the cubs pitching coach to get back at the cardinals.
  22. The Red Sox were at the point where they were willing to just dump the guy for nothing and eat the contract, so now, they at least get something, even if they likely still have to eat the contract. sure, I get that, but he's acquired two players today that he doesn't need at all disagree. laroche has a career line of .296/.357/.544/.901 after the ASB and .275/.347/.500/.847 against RHP. ortiz is an injury risk and has been bad most of the year, lowell can't play more than a few games in a row and is another big injury risk. laroche gives them a good bat at 1B/DH and insurance should lowell/ortiz get hurt or ortiz continue to be terrible.
  23. I think he had a mustache too :( say it ain't so mark
  24. what if the reds gave the cubs brandon phillips for free, but with the stipulation that the cubs also take on dusty baker as manager for as long as they keep brandon phillips? would you do it? i sure as hell would not.
