  1. well good thing they bunted reed to third, he would've had a hard time scoring from second there.
  2. great move, play for one run in the first inning of a day that your starting pitcher sucks ass.
  3. justin berg? i'm not sure that there's a better option. we're pretty thin at SP since marshall is apparently our LOOGY now.
  4. hey taveras is fast, maybe you should keep an eye on him.
  5. boy if he's gonna get knocked around by the likes of dickerson and taveras, this could be a long day.
  6. Take the under.... Hanigan is not in the lineup today !! he is on gameday.... well whatever catcher is playing for the reds, i'm assuming he's going to have at least 3 hits and 1 for extra bases. maybe he can throw in a david ross home run for old times' sake.
  7. over/under on hits for hanigan? i say three.
  8. yeah the mets are truly a disaster right now. hopefully they suck this badly when we play them in september, but unfortunately they'll probably have reyes and beltran and possibly delgado back.
  9. college football saturdays at home are amazing. another recommendation - get at least one more tv from your house, put a splitter on your cable, set up at least one other TV to watch games on saturday. the last couple of years my buddies and i have had 3 TVs going (i have an entertainment center so we put the best game on the big-screen HDTV and then two other games on the other TVs).
  10. ryan braun playing third base his rookie year cost the brewers something like 25 runs. that's playing a much more difficult position that sees more balls in play than corner OF, and playing it as atrociously as is humanly possible. braun only played about 2/3 of the season, so he probably cost the brewers about 35 runs over the course of a full season. i can't imagine that a LF/RF can cost his team that many runs unless he's literally never played outfield before and misses a lot of routine plays. dunn is a butcher, no doubt, but i think the true number of runs he costs his teams is something like 15-20.
  11. yeah it's caused by him learning the dave duncan pitch. last night's game pissed me off, every pitch low/outside corner. go the other way a-holes. i'd also like to know when pineiro developed maddux-in-his-prime control.
  12. i knew wallace had some raw talent but i did not know he was a two-sport athlete.
  13. nice to see another pair of walks from castro.
  14. keep harden, offer him arbitration, let him walk and take the first round picks.
  15. su-min jung is pitching again for the azl cubs and has gone 1.2 innings, 1 hit, 1 BB, 1 K. d.j. lemahieu started his cub career with a triple and was knocked in by the next batter. brett jackson also had an rbi single in the first inning. daytona is leading a slugfest 10-7. vitters is 1-2 with a hbp, castro is 1-3 with a walk, harrison is 2-3 with a walk. harrison has really been hitting lately.
  16. Unfortunately, the typical Cards game consisted of Pujols with a multi-HR game and nothing else. Guess who has more RBI, the #1 guy on the cardinals list after Pujols, or the #1 guy on the Cubs? Wait, damn, Lee's two RBI put him ahead of Ludwick edit: and the #3-5 on the Cards are all basically tied with 2-4 on the Cubs lugo will have about 100 rbi by october.
  17. my prediction is that lugo rakes for a year and a half while the red sox pay for it and wonder where the hell this was when he was playing there, then the cubs sign him to a two-year deal to fill the hole at 2B and he becomes an old man who hits .150.
  18. lol lugo just homered.
  19. hopefully they can run the non-conference gauntlet of home games versus charleston southern, FIU, troy and florida st.
  20. We lead the loss column.. IMHO were a better team than the Giants and Rockies, and we can take the Card. The of course theres the matter of playing the Phillies or Dodgers, but we'll see. I agree but I'm sure not conceding the division yet. As cliche as it sounds, Soriano and/or Bradley getting their acts together would be as good as any trade, but its just not happeneing, not on a consistant basis. consistent
  21. well yeah if losers like julio lugo and rick ankiel keep raking then they will be unstoppable.
  22. i think we all want florida to suck, but unfortunately they're probably going to be really good again, unless Football Jesus gets hurt. http://soonerdudes.files.wordpress.com/2008/12/100_5098.jpg
  23. he'll be this year's felipe lopez, a guy who sucks and gets released but then turns great in st. louis.
  24. i liked the story about larussa being angry with wellemeyer because of his poor performance this season. gosh, sorry you only got 1.5 good seasons after going dumpster diving for him. seriously, i don't know why they signed carpenter and lohse to long extensions; just sign jorge de la rosa or matt belisle and watch them blossom into borderline cy young candidates.
  25. 5-0 on a double by mr. hgh. time to change the channel... thanks a bunch phillies.
