  1. by the way, some random guy that the cards called up to fill in for matt carpenter (paternity leave) is hitting over .600 with an ops near 2.000.
  2. I don't think warnings were necessarily needed in that specific scenario. Joe Buck's self-aggrandizing "but think of the fans that came here to see Syndergaard!" talk annoyed me more than it should have. Maybe Syndergaard should've thought about the fans that came to see him before playing beanball. it's stupid. the rule is that the umpire can throw a player out if he judges that the pitcher was throwing at a batter. there's no need for warnings. i don't really care about syndergaard throwing that pitch, but he doesn't miss like that accidentally. he threw at (or near) utley on purpose and got tossed, as he should have been. joe buck can eat a dick.
  3. Doesn't matter what year it is, sleeve tattoos are [expletive] terrible the only thing more terrible are the people who have them. Cute girls with tattoo sleeves are kinda hot. i'm not into gonorrhea. hard pass.
  4. rammyfanny is going to be reporting back that ian rose is a future mlb all star.
  5. I guess the Sox just lack twtw. After the walk-off hit, MLB.tv cut off the Sox feed more quickly than any other game I've seen on MLB.tv or MLBEI. The Royals feed was on for at least another five minutes. This makes me sad, I probably missed out on a ton of Hawk's crying. more likely you missed out on this: [bbvideo=560,315] [/bbvideo]

  7. not sure it is really necessary to make a move to the pen when the opposing team has a 0.0% win expectancy.
  8. hey remember when there was a lot of ridicule for prospect lists which ranked lindor ahead of baez?
  9. supposedly he did some things in the offseason in hopes of carrying through his performance in the second half. http://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/how-jason-hammel-made-himself-look-like-a-key-to-cubs-rotation/ take with a grain of salt. if the cubs are running away with the division in the second half, i'd be happy for them to skip his spot in the rotation a couple of times. he'd be a big asset as the fourth starter in the playoffs if he can pitch anywhere close to the way he's been pitching in first halves the last 2-3 years.
  10. they have four fielders who are downright bad in the positions they're currently playing (adams, diaz, holliday, grichuk). they're scoring runs, but they're definitely going to give some back in the field.

  12. most errors in baseball? cardinals aren't playing the game the right way.
  13. it's fun when you think the game is starting at normal central time (around 7pm CDT) and you go to watch the game and the cubs are already leading 6-0.
  14. this eloy stuff is starting to get exciting. he's leading the MWL in slugging, tied for second in home runs, second in OPS, and he doesn't turn 20 until after the season. top 50 prospect in mlb pretty easy, if he comes anywhere close to keeping this up. meanwhile, tyler alamo didn't dong for his first 108 games as a professional, and now has donged in consecutive games. baseball is funny.
  15. Correct. This is the most difficult month of the season schedule-wise, 18 games against playoff contenders. The Cubs are 10-4 in those games. Despite losing 8 of 12 they're still playing at a 109 win pace overall. The pitching has continued to be solid. Things are more than fine. I think it's fine to express frustration so long as perspective is maintained. Being a well-adjusted person doesn't mean having no emotions whatsoever. People differ in their levels of expression, is all. your posts give the impression that you lose perspective several times in each individual game.
  16. It depends. Do you mean "be upset?" Or do you mean "whine incessantly?" Yeah I mean I made like what, 4 posts in the game thread. God forbid I question a team that's busy coughing up all that early season lead they built up. they haven't even coughed up half of it.
