And you call yourself a Crusader... I asked a question about him like two weeks back when he was rumored as a possible assistant under McCaffery at Iowa. Doesn't look like that's happening though. sorry, i don't check this thread often. obviously being fired after one year as a head coach does not speak well to his abilities. like i said, our team badly underachieved this year and injuries were not a big problem. my observation - just from looking at box scores - was that defense really went downhill this season. under coach willard we were always strong defensively; this year we were one of the worst teams in the nation at forcing turnovers and using pomeroy's adjusted defense stat, we were #288 in the nation (compared with #118 last year and spending a lot of the willard years between #30 and #100). we also turned the ball over too much. i don't know if the new coach was totally to blame for the problems, but like i said, holy cross was picked to win the league with largely the same team that made the PL finals the previous year, and we were 9-22. obviously something was wrong.
