  1. first and third, no outs would look really nice right now.
  2. i love how 80% of the time we're involved in a scrum we end up shorthanded. i wish the broad street bullies never existed.
  3. the wind is blowing out you dumb douchebag, you don't need to get things started by running.
  4. stop batting soto 8th you senile old moron
  5. hey this pitcher is really good, maybe we should take bad first pitches instead of putting them in play
  6. lol 2-0 this series is going to be awful
  7. haha already a goal by the flyers and they look completely outmanned. hard to win this time of year with half a team.
  8. Then stop posting. Another way to put this; "yes my argument is ridiculous and based on nothing, so if you don't like that then don't respond." How many more years would you like before a championship is won? Tell the Twins how much one measley game means to a team the last two years. the twins didn't win a championship either.
  9. exactly. the fontenot/baker platoon really hasn't been bad when used properly (when baker faces RHP, though, he's awful). theriot has been fine. this isn't some finished product who's drawing walks, playing near-perfect defense, hitting for power and stealing tons of bases; he's starting to show some power, the walk rate is still fairly low, he still makes a good number of errors (like you'd expect from a young guy) and has been caught stealing a few times already. his numbers are other-worldly mostly because his BABIP is like .900. castro really isn't going to come up and be hanley ramirez, so how much are you really gaining by possibly rushing his development and starting his arby clock a year early? not too much.
  10. nick struck pitched a complete game no-hitter!!!! (in 5 innings - rest of game thunderstormed out)
  11. it would never end because each team would be equally inept.
  12. daytona is down 4-3 in the 7th. rhee didn't do that well - 4.2 ip, 8 h, 4 r, 0 bb, 4 k, 1 hr, 7 GO/3 FO. brett jackson has had a very good game - 3-3 with a double, walk and 2 SB's. vitters is 3-4 with a double. peoria is in a rain delay ahead 4-0 after 4.5 innings. nick struck is probably done - 5 ip, 0 h, 0 r, 1 bb, 5 k. he was a 39th round pick out of a JuCo in the northwest. here's an article i found about him - there's a little bit of info about his stuff and how much he signed for (6 figures, including the cubs paying for college... which means he received money like a top 10-round pick: http://www.clackamasreview.com/sports/story.php?story_id=125131681593128000 castro is 1-3 with a sac fly; carpenter went 5 ip, 4 h, 1 r, 2 bb, 4 k, 1 hr, 6 GO/5 FO.
  13. apparently they left all their PK ability in round 1 and jan halak left all his good play there.
  14. http://www.iraqwarveterans.org/images/iraq/free/cards/baghdad-bob.jpg in what before this season would have appeared to be one of the biggest pitching mismatches in baseball history, the D-Bags send Danny Haren (34.0 IP, 32 H, 17 ER, 6 HR, 8 BB, 38 K, 1.17 WHIP, 4.50 ERA, 17.2 LD%, .310 BABIP) against the surprising Carlos Silva (26.0 IP, 17 H, 5 ER, 1 HR, 3 BB, 15 K, 20.5 LD% with a .215 BABIP... uh oh). Haren, if you might remember, was traded by the Cardinals for Mark Mulder, who basically sucked a fat one in St. Louis. Thank you for making that trade, Walt Jocketty, and not leaving the National League to face a 1-2-3 of Haren, Wainwright and Carpenter. Any rain is expected to be done by game time; we here at the NSBB Forecast Center® foresee a high in the upper 70s with a southwest wind at 10-20 mph. Winds will be blowing straight out to CF and right-center, so pitches are advised to keep the ball down! Go Cubs, let's catch fire and win two in a row!!! (No baseball cards today as the Diamondbacks do not have any history)
  15. 47 PA's against marmol this year and 22 K's... that's pretty good
  16. go liverpool this weekend. sunderland tied man u at old trafford earlier this day so three points are far from guaranteed for man u this weekend. chelski won't drop any points against wigan at home with the title on the line (though wigan somehow won 3-1 earlier this year) so i think man u's chances of winning basically rest on liverpool taking at least a point from chelski while man u wins out. good for fulham. i will be rooting for them in the final.
  17. Gotta give the kid his starts lest the Kaplans of the world cry. meh i don't have a problem with it. as long as colvin is hitting it can't hurt to give the other OFs a rest once a week and end up having colvin starting 3 times a week. it's not as dumb as starting colvin against a LHP over byrd earlier this month.
  18. Understatement i have him on two fantasy teams and he's sucked ass so far this year.
  19. hey, lou's philosophy is if it ain't broke, don't fix it. unless you're talking about lee and aramis being broken... don't fix that either.
  20. in a similar vein, theriot is hitting .340 with a .764 OPS
  21. there's the heilman we all know and hate
  22. someone needs to get a screen shot of this, it's hilarious
