  1. congrats on needing six games to beat a team with a third string goalie and a top scorer with two broken feet. guess you guys weren't that good after all. now get back to me in four months when the illini are blowing a close football game and you're griping about your teams never winning anything.
  2. hopefully pat kane doesn't rape a stewardess on the flight home.
  3. i think hak-ju lee has been picked off 3 times in the last 2 games.
  4. my heartfelt condolences. but really it was a fun series and i'm proud that my team played as well as they did. if we had a real goaltender the outcome might've been different, which is about as much as i could have expected.
  5. hockey players are trashy people who happen to make millions of dollars.
  6. put some logos on lou's gut while you're at it; Lord knows there's enough space there.
  7. but really, dusty baker almost took the giants to a title and almost took the cubs to the world series, and he's completely incompetent. unless the cubs get better players, we don't really need to worry about sandberg mismanaging the team into the ground because this team couldn't go anywhere with earl weaver at the helm. hopefully they get players who don't suck so we can wonder why how many games the manager is costing them.
  8. i still find it odd that schools like stanford and cal would okay turds like okie st and texas tech. i guess they'll do it because of the collective will of the conference.
  9. wow i'm pretty stunned, i figured usc would just get a slap on the wrist. good for the ncaa.
  10. i heard it on my way home. i don't know a lot about the blackhawks radio announcers, but it was pretty damn close to how i would envision ron santo reacting to a cubs world series. ...dropping dead from shock? hopefully ron santo lives until he's 178 years old so that he can experience a cubs world series victory.
  11. i dont see why they would. it looks to be really just kansas getting screwed, and the texas schools maybe flying a little farther east or west than they used to. lol at the sec president saying "the sec is what the other conferences are striving to be." how so? lousy adademically? corrupt athletically? yeah the sec has good sports but some conferences don't embrace the win/cheat at all costs mentality.
  12. He should probably feel bad about not doing [expletive] the whole series. he's probably also feeling bad because he has two broken feet and it [expletive] hurts.
  13. he played well in this series and helped the blackhawks win. so pronger played half the game and played solid defense against your top line, and committed a few penalties that allowed your team to score power play goals. he didn't hit anyone dirty or injure any blackhawks players during the entire series. chicago fans would have booed anyone on the flyers who won the conn smythe because that player would have played well and hawks fans would be upset that their team didn't win. just admit that there really isn't a difference between fans of most teams. it's okay, you can do it.
  14. Niemi didn't have any great games in the finals, but he saved our asses twice. Once after they tied it and once in the OT. Amazing saves or we would be pissing our pants about Friday night. i wonder how carter feels about that chance he missed probably bad
  15. what would have happened in chicago if the flyers won game seven and chris pronger won the conn smythe? if your answer isn't "booing" then you're a liar. except that jonathan toews isn't a huge douche that is hated by everyone in the nhl nice comparison though lol, well assuming that everyone thinks pronger is a huge douche and hates him (which they don't, but clearly you don't know anything about how the rest of the players in the league view him) then replace pronger with danny briere and let me know what hawks fans would have done if he'd scored the overtime winner.

  17. Looks like cans of Bud Light going in there now. wtf? why? if i just won the stanley cup i'd want to drink something better out of it than [expletive] bud light.
  18. yeah i'd also like to see some more of soto instead of [expletive] koyie hill. this year's team is pretty much a waste; might as well find out if your former rookie of the year catcher is a guy who can be an above-average player for the next few years or if you need to start trying to find a catcher elsewhere. i'm pretty sure koyie hill is not the long-term answer (nor should he even be considered a short-term answer either)
  19. i'm not that high on argentina mostly because i think maradona is an awful manager. some of these other guys can coach circles around him and i don't think argentina's talent can necessarily overcome that against other very good teams.
  20. are we going to make an offseason thread now? no cynosure to start it up. my first question about the offseason is whether there will be an investigation into the league rigging game six for the flyers to win, or whether the hawks winning the game has rendered that moot. because frankly that seems like something that should not be let go. also, are there any cheap goalies who don't suck? because otherwise we're probably stuck with scrubs in net again. we also really need to improve our third pairing; krajicek was a castoff from some lousy team in the western conference and nobody has any confidence in parent. i think bartulis could mature into a solid third pairing d-man if they sign a solid stay at home guy to pair him with. forward we're in pretty good shape, especially with the emergence of leino.
  21. It's about time some of these Hawks pull an Urlacher and knock one of them up. from what i've heard, kane will be up to the task. madden can probably help. Pretty much every bartender in Chicago has a story about the Blackhawks. These guys are like some horrifying combination of Mark Grace and Kyle Farnsworth. hopefully for y'alls sake kane gets his best playing years out of the way before he dies from syphilis.
  22. watching college football. hope that helps.

  24. especially if kane is actually beating off
