  1. archer got dinged for 2 runs in the 5th inning, but has 9 K's and 0 BB's and the opposing team's BABIP is about .550. i'll take that.
  2. Maybe we should make each goal scored in a soccer game worth 6 points. In this example Brazil beat North Korea 12-6 today. that will just make all the 0-0 finals look even worse
  3. what does this mean? who is the conference killer? Texas. i guess, but texas is bigger and better than everyone else and they expect to be treated accordingly. and why shouldn't they? in tv deals, baylor and iowa st apparently stand to rake in $15M a year while texas could net $25M a year - really, texas is worth more than that and the dregs of the conference are worth less. texas has pretty much every conference in america chasing after it, and stands to make a lot more money in the big ten and sec or be a much better academic fit in the big ten or pac 10. texas isn't the big xii killer as much as the demographics of the conference and turds like iowa st, baylor, kansas st and texas tech which add little or nothing to national interest in the conference. Every conference has several schools who add nothing. Washington State, Oregon State, Arizona State in the Pac-10, Missisippi St., Ole Miss, Vandy, South Carolina in the SEC, Northwestern, Minnesota, Penn State in the Big 10, and yet all of those conferences manage to keep from the brink of destruction. And half the schools you mentioned weren't in the last conference that Texas killed. south carolina, ole miss and penn st (you were probably just trolling with that one) have no business being on this list.
  4. carrie muskat is a clown.
  5. if the vuvuzelas have some sort of cultural significance to south africa - which is probably bull crap but whatever - then let the fans use them when the bafana bafana play and ban them when everyone else is playing.

  7. i thought that was west virginia
  8. they have their entire team back to play defense. obviously this is the right move given the massive gap in talent, but it's just not interesting to watch. it's almost like they need college lacrosse rules so that teams are required to keep three players or whatever in the "offensive" end of the field so that can't just pack everyone back and play for nil-nil.
  9. Is someone holding a gun to your head and forcing you to watch? I sympathize with your plight. can you imagine a scenario in which truffle actually enjoys something? i cant. you're just bitter because i don't think oklahoma's great pastime (bull wrestling) is a sport
  10. Is someone holding a gun to your head and forcing you to watch? I sympathize with your plight. i'm watching because i enjoy soccer, but come on - there have been 1.5 goals per game so far. there has been a dearth of good scoring chances and goals so far in this tournament.
  11. oh fun another scoreless half zzzzzzzzz
  12. you can get in for less than $50 to see the flames if you're willing to sit in the worst seats.
  13. hey brazil, start trying
  14. yes, it's awesome

  17. hey, one guy hit the post
  18. He also said that Nebraska and Colorado were wise to get out when they could. We'll see what kind of rules are put in place to prevent other schools from bolting, but I agree with him. Man...those schools were truly terrified of life after the Big 12. can't say i blame them. if the reported deal is true, baylor and iowa st stand to make $15 million in tv revenue. nobody cares about those schools and nobody is tuning in to watch them on tv. if not for the coattails of the real teams in that conference, they'd make about 15 dollars in tv revenue.
  19. wait til brazil beats north korea 8-0
  20. so, lou piniella is a bad manager huh?
  21. poor north korea... now both portugal and ivory coast are going to try to beat them as badly as possible.
