  1. sure wouldn't be many times that a player goes from batting leadoff one day to batting 9th the following day.
  2. Yeah, today didn't actually work out too badly all things considered. Patton is lousy and will be sent down since he threw 80 pitches, Peralta's career should basically be over, and Montero is our worst position player and he threw some pitches. Basically anybody in the bullpen who matters at all got the day off. Not bad for a game in which your starter can't even make it out of the second inning.
  3. lester was trying to get people to spend more time with their family and friends on this holiday weekend. YOU'RE WELCOME
  4. in these games where a team is just getting completely blasted early on and is clearly not going to win, i always wondered why a manager wouldn't just put in all his bench players and let some utility infielder just lob meatballs across the plate for the rest of the game. what's the downside, you lose by 50 runs? it's still just one loss. seems preferable to burning out the bullpen by using all of your arms in a game that's lost.
  5. put montero at catcher and let ross lob 50 mph pitches down the middle for the rest of the game. see if the mets try to score 100 runs or if they just get bored and start letting them go by for strikes.
  6. you can also say that the cubs are still on pace to win over 100 games despite their recent struggles.
  7. What do you do from the 5th on though? cahill time.
  8. what is faster, syndergaard's fastball or the average exit velocity of the ball leaving the bat on a hit off jon lester?
  9. how does neil walker have 15 dongs already?
  10. put in peralta and have him throw 200 pitches.
  11. can we make the default setting that rondon fan is on everybody's ignore list, and they have to opt in to reading his terrible posts?
  12. now guys i have never heard of are donging.
  13. how do we keep giving up so many dongs to such a mediocre lineup?
  14. They were already plenty annoying. after both cub home runs last night, a bunch of met fans around me were shouting at cub fans to sit down because their team sucks and will always be losers. i guess they haven't perused the standings this season. there were also a huge number of obese met fans, although i'm not sure if this is something especially true among met fans, new yorkers, baseball fans or just americans in general.
  15. now we'll see if a 99 year old man can catch up with a 99 mph fastball.
  16. But then he's be forced to umpire past retirement age. I forgot to mention that I hope MLB will also start to make terrible umpires accountable
  17. Wishing bodily harm on people is wrong, so I hope that Laz Diaz has a crooked accountant who cleans out his retirement savings.
  18. Definitely one of the worst going right now.
  19. the mets are probably even money to make the playoffs.
  20. bryan hudson is having a solid game (1 earned run allowed in 3 innings) if you ignore the 6 walks and 1 hit batter.

  22. people were probably saying that against mariano rivera for 20 years.
  23. maybe stop swinging at pitches that are a foot low and a foot inside.
  24. has familia's arm recovered from pitching in every postseason game last year?
