  1. is the score kept in imaginary numbers? that reminds me, i had a test in high school and didn't know how to do one of the questions that involved imaginary numbers, so i wrote a note suggesting that the teacher just imagine that i gave the correct answer. she was not amused.
  2. actually i think it was bryan lahair.
  3. sorry, i have sucked... i'll go to the post office on friday afternoon and send you a shiny usa $20 bill.
  4. not sure i'm a fan of giving the other team an out with a guy whose obp is almost .500
  5. definitely an asterisk on this one
  6. an expiring contract? this isn't the nba. Wouldn't that potentially have some appeal to a team in serious financial trouble? not really, if they're in financial trouble then just trade wright for a bunch of prospects. how does paying aramis ramirez to underproduce for $10 million and then leave make any sense to a terrible team like the mets?
  7. eastern sports programming network! good one!!!
  8. I'd pay money to do it if I could. In a year I get my doctorate and I'm out of this hell-hole. are you talking about the same chicago and the same st louis as everyone else? i can't believe there are people who prefer st louis.
  9. What happened? Very similar to how the Hawks won Game 6 last year against Philly, except it was even more obvious this time around that the puck was in the back of the net. Boston clearly scored in overtime, yet the goal light never came on. They continued playing until the next stoppage in play when the refs got word from Toronto that Boston won the game. meh, play only went on for like 5 seconds because the flyers iced the puck shortly after that. and the referee down low didn't signal goal either. tim thomas absolutely won that game for boston, he was brilliant. of course, we have had mediocre goalies for the past 20 years so i don't know what it's like to have a goalie winning a series for you... usually it is goalies letting in complete turds that ends up being our downfall.
  10. boy i'd be doing really well if i hadn't picked [expletive] dan johnson as my wild card
  11. laker fans should never be allowed to point out poor officiating.
  12. I dont know, theyre starting to remind me of the 2008 Tigers, remember, they had Cabrera, Ordonez, Sheffield, Granderson, Guillen, Pudge, Polanco, and Jacque Jones up and down the lineup, and everyone thought they couldnt possibly be as bad as they were, and it turned out that they were. that's because a few of those guys (magglio, renteria and polanco especially) were coming off anomalously good years and people thought they could keep hitting like that, plus they assumed that a lot of those guys in their 30s would rake like they did in their prime. they were actually #4 in runs scored and #3 in OPS among AL teams, even with most of their players coming back to earth and some having downright poor years. their problem wasn't offense, it was pitching... they had one of the worst staffs in the AL, which is why they lost a lot.
  13. brian boucher is just lousy. i mean, not michael leighton-bad, but lousy nonetheless.
  14. Truffle won't be happy until everyone's as miserable as him. quite the contrary, it's nice to not have the burden of caring a lot about each cubs game.
  15. Wow. Still, without that trade, our rotation would be even more of a mess than it is now. think Zambrano, Dempster, Silva, Coleman, Russell. this is true. you probably do not want to look up brandon guyer's numbers either. archer, on the other hand, has been bad.
  16. http://www.baseballamerica.com/statistics/players/cards/88649 :x
  17. man luongo was really good all of regulation and then let in a complete turd of a goal with a minute left. side note, i think the predators should just keep barry trotz around as their head coach until he dies. with all the turnover in hockey coaching, it would be funny if they went like 40 or 50 years with the same head coach. then after he dies they can keep his corpse as their head coach. do it, nashville.
  18. 2 more wins and we're back to complete averageness!
